Jut some cool info - all seasons and the movie contain links to each other - some very subtle (season 1 to the movie with the buried cash) and in this one, the older local sheriff played by Ted Danson (Sam from "Cheers" and recurring as himself on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as just 2 prime examples of a legendary career) he is the father in law to the main character State Trooper (the actor is Patrick Wilson and he is great and of late most known for being the lead in the "Conjuring" series as well as insanely creepy and awesome "Insidious" 1 and 2). But his name is Lou Solverson - ring a bell? He is the dad who runs the diner in Season 1 and his daughter is Molly Solverson, the main police character in S1. Remember how they kept referring to "the incident in Sioux Falls" well, sit back and enjoy learning what that is all about. But yeah, super cool that the main character Lou Solverson in this season is the same guy in Season 1 who had the stare down with Malvo in the diner and sat on his daughter's porch with a shotgun. Now you see him as a younger man and it is part of the magic of this series. The other magic is the most sought after name in TV show running/writing/directing, Noah Hawley, who is the man behind the greatness of the Fargo TV series. Due to my consideration of Lorne Malvo as one of the greatest characters in Tv and movie history, I lean towards Season 1 as the best. But anyone who loves Season 2 more I cannot argue - it is incredible as well, as you will be experiencing, and I love watching it again with your commentary! Season 3 is fantastic but 1 and 2 are TV legends. Season 4 is harder to pin down but I am very confident once I give it a second watch will like it more and more. So that is the one BIG BIG tie in, with smaller ones sprinkled in this season. Noah Hawley also did "Legion" an absolutely mind-blowing 3 season amazing show I hope you may choose to check out, as Hawley's wok is equal and some times even better than in Fargo. But Fargo is just as special as you feel it is - I'd say season 1 is in the Top 20 (top 10 maybe even) television shows ever made. In Both Fargo and Legion, Noah is so focused on nailing the music - his music partner is named Jeff Russo, who aside from becoming another 'IT' guy in tv and movies, was the lead guitarist and song writer for a pop-rock band called "Tonic" who hit bigtime in the late 90s with the song "If you Could Only See" and lasted for a few years as a relevant successful band. We are in diff age brackets but that song at least I'd bet you'd recognize. I am a Gen X'er and proud of it, so that was in the middle of college for me - Go Hokies :). I love your channel and this is my first comment but out of all the tv and film review channels you really do the best, prop to you man. I also discovered Mrballen like 2 months ago and it is great, really. Hadn't seen the episode you are talking about yet though but that is a super weird coincidence. I have really enjoyed the selections you have made. But for now, just wanted to give the cool links between seasons for the show and also say thanks for the excellent work. As a devout worshipper of The Cohens, Kubrick and Wes Anderson, it has been great to watch those in particular. I look forward to more! But for now just enjoying you didn't waste barely any time getting to this amazing season.
