Vote on what I should watch and react to next! This Poll will end most likely Sunday and I'll choose the TOP 2 to react to next week on Monday & Wednesday!

No worries, I plan on actually prolonging these recommendations so don't trip if you don't see your selection on here first!

Anyone know if James has seen The Social Network before he made the channel? Would love a reaction if not

Anonymous

Also lets go Incendies again haha

Anonymous

I'd love to recommend the Evil Dead 2013 version if you haven't seen it already, considering you did the original films :)

Anonymous

I'm smiling in glee at continuously seeing Stalker on these polls. I do appreciate it a lot.

Brittyn Lindsey

Please add Night of the Hunter to your next poll!

Anonymous

Yo James could you please add The Revenant starring DiCaprio to the next poll. Would be interesting hearing your opinions on it from a filmmaker perspective. I have some other recommendations as well but I don't wanna overwhelm lol, so I’ll save those for later

jamesvscinema

Hey! I’ve seen that one, but more than happy to give a proper video on it as a commentary next time!

Anonymous

Please add the 1979 movie Scum. The full film is on YouTube right now.

Sabra Lee

Lost in Translation is a great one...

Sonia Deepak

Still cheering for Harold and Maude

Anonymous

Yeah, definitely had to vote for that one. Criminally forgotten and/or reacted to.

My one, strong suggestion would be “Master and Commander” a naval film based primarily on one ship of HM Royal Navy during the early 19th century I believe, great character progression and awesome classical score too; well worth a watch I’d say, in my own humble opinion of course

Anonymous

Oh, well I suppose my night is set then!! I thank you truly for your response and look forward to your life of Brian reaction soon, or so it would seem at least haha 😂 👍🏼

I apologise profusely for the duplicate request, I have only been a member of this particular Patreon group for a week or so and had not had the grey matter to think about looking at past videos; I was merely impressed with the most recent posts on YouTube that I decided Patreon would be a good choice. I thank you in advance for the content I shall surely enjoy 🙏🙌

Hey James, I meant to post this comment on your Schindler's List reaction, but missed it so I'll just say it here: Can I recommend you add "Amistad" (1997) to a future poll? Similar to Schindler's List, it's Steven Spielberg tackling a dark period in human history, but it didn't receive the same level of acclaim. Personally I think it's very powerful and very underrated.

jamesvscinema

Ay don’t trip about it homie! Intentions were genuine so it’s always good to hear from ya. Cheers Terry, glad to have you!

H Blackwell

My God, Black Dynamite is an absolute must see! Vote that shit higher peep!!

Patrick

Lost in Translation 🤞

kimsmk

James I’d love to see you watch Welcome To The Dollhouse :)

Anonymous

I'll buy that for a dollar!

Anonymous

@james is there a separate thread for suggestions? I have a few ideas but I don't want to bury them here.

Anonymous

Looks like that will be another great week!

Marvelous Dolcy

Damn Stalker is never gonna win bur glad to see it keeping on making an appearance. Love the side note for Robocop. (1987? ) lol. Great movies here. My vote is for Stalker. And Harold and Maud. Black Dynamite is a great comedy also

Mitchy D

More PTA goddamit! Need more PTA reactions with Licorice Pizza coming out soon!

Haye Zeus

So if LoB and Robo win, then that’s 2 Jesus stories back to back for next week.

Brittyn Lindsey

I’m curious; have a lot of people just never seen Primal Fear before or do they just not like it? I’m always shocked at the low votes here. In the 90s this movie was a big deal.

Anonymous

Oh Yes! Yessss! Charles Laughton's only directed movie. Then we can all watch Do The Right Thing afterwards

Thomas Monk

“The Life of Brian” and “Misery.” Definitely both.

Jessi

I'd ADORE Lost in Translation- but I don't think it'll ever win

Pate

I adore it too. Really, as someone stuck between the West and the East and ending up feeling like either is inadequate (tho East better), I loooooove it. But I also don't know how great a reaction film it is. It's really a gentle film about the feeling isolated and muddling. It's sort of about quietly resonating with you. Even Her or Royal Tenenbaums have moments where the meaning is concentrated (and therefore reactable). Lost in Translation just sort of swims beside you.

Bryan

Incendies will be your favorite watch of the year

Kaitlin

Come on, Black Dynamite! Let's go, Black Dynamite! (Also Harold and Maude!)

Kaitlin

I like that this poll is mostly made up of all the stuff we can't agree on. It would be great to have the next one be all the runner-ups so we can sort through some of the list. lol

Damian Christopher

Harold And Maude and Lost In Translation got my vote. I'd also want to suggest Robert Altman's Hollywood satire The Player.

Anonymous

Harold and Maude. Changed my life, but in a cute way.

Simson Ward

Add Room to a future poll. No, not THE ROOM. lol. But the movie with Brie Larson. It's her best performance that won her an Oscar and such a heartfelt and intelligent film. As for a series, The Sinner. It's going 4 seasons strong. And they're not long seasons. Only 8 episodes per, but you'll be on edge during every episode, guarantee. It stars Bill Pullman and Jessica Biel (1st season) while Biel also executive produced the entire series. Very well thought out series. Excellent writing, top tier imo. And the acting is criminally underrated for a series.

Mark Kelso

"Harold and Maude"... if you don't know, you don't know, so I guess it'll never win a poll. But it's one of the shining gems of the 70's, when directors had the independence to take on impossibly risky material, and Hal Ashby pulled off a funny, touching, Kubrickesque quirky masterpiece with this one. The cinematography and editing are as blow-away as the writing and acting. I truly hope James sees it some day.

Rhonda Turner

"Harold and Maude" - definitely! Like 12 Angry Men, this is an incredibly unassuming movie w/deep dives into our culture. It's dark and funny and touching. Like the other post-er I read above said, I hope you'll take the time to watch this movie someday, even if not this day.

Randall Keizer

The New RoboCop is actually very good. But the original is epic!

Randall Keizer

Clint Eastwood - Unforgiven

Randall Keizer

Also, I nominate 'Network!' - 1977

Randall Keizer

Sorry. As a director, you might want to watch 'JFK' - 1991 Oliver Stone

J.S.Leeds

I’d like to suggest lovecraft county or the watchmen series please.

Would love your opinion on one of my favorites ,Millers Crossing

PollenPackedPipe

If you have not see it Dead Man's Shoes by Shane Meadow's is worth your time. 1) because i said i would try to get you to watch it in a youtube comment a few months ago and 2) it shows off Shane underappreciated (i feel) skill in making a movie. Tx

Stalker! Get some Tarkovsky in your life. Then watch Annihilation as it took inspiration from Stalker

Randall Keizer

'Good Will Hunting' with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck
