Hi guys! I hope you all are well!

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions on my post from last week, many of you have suggested adding breathing problems to babies and I really do like the idea. My only concern was that I didnt think I could attach ventilators to the baby because of how they are made, still I tried this week to see if i was wrong but it turns out it really seemed to be impossible.😔

However someone suggested that I could look into Pneumothorax (collapsed lung) which can be treated using a oxygen hood.😀and it turned out to be just what I needed.

So when babies are born, there is a chance they may have Pneumothorax, they dont need treatment at this stage and there is a chance they will recover on their own.

however if it worsens you will see that their lips, ears and limbs would appear slightly purple due to the lack of oxygen(I should probably make the purple stand out more)

and when you ask the doctor they will confirm that treatment is now needed using the oxygen hood.

they will autonomously place the oxygen hood at some point, or you can do it manually with your sim

babies who are on the oxygen hood will recover 3 times faster than if they are left untreated

and that is all I have this week.

next week I want to work on the functionalities that actually allow sims to give birth prematurely. which is gonna be challenging but fun! I can't wait! 😍I hope you all are having a great weekend!

another idea somewhat unrelated: it would be so cute to be able to introduce siblings to the new baby, whether that’s visiting at the hospital or once the baby and parents are home. maybe one of the parents can hold the baby and bend down to the child’s height (depending on if child, toddler or infant), and show them their sibling.

Will these illnesses be optional or something that can be shut off? Just me but I’m not interested in dealing with them.
