Disclaimer: the baby incubator is meant to be used at the hospital, Im only using it at home for testing purposes

I did something exciting this week 😮

introducing....premature nooboos

It all started last week....

Last week I was able to get the NICU bassinet working in game, at the time the babies were still full sized, and dressed in their regular baby onesie

At the beginning of this week I was able to make the babies smaller

then after some sweats and tears (mostly tears) I was fortunate enough to figure out the scripting that allowed me to make babies put on this diaper and ecg patches🥺 this looks so much better than the onsies and it really makes the whole experience feel more realistic

I added some different swatches to the NICU incubator Then of course I did something and broke the baby and turned it into a kraken, so I started over

and then today I wanted to make an interaction that allows adult sims to read to their baby, like this⤵️it should work similar to the "read to child" interaction that allow you to select which baby you want to read to, but I got stuck on the part where the babies were greyed out and not select-able, which is something I will have to figure out next week.  I wanted to get started on the animation this week but unfortunately things took longer than expected this week 🥲

because of how lot the incubator is, sims will have to sit on a chair next to the incubator to interact with the baby, it took me forever and a half just to get the damn chair to snap to the right spot 😑this was also when the baby kept turning into a kraken, but I figured it out in the end!

frankly I haven't been this excited for an update in a while now. 🤗It just makes so happy to be able to do something that I thought was impossible previously.

next week I will get started on the animation that allow sims to interact with their baby. I also want to add an interaction later that allow sims to hold their baby on their chest. It would also be fun if we can get friends or families to visit your sim at the hospital post birth.🫢

what would like to see in this update? leave a comment below! thank you all for your amazing support and always believing in me! 💞I am so excited for what lies ahead for this update! 😍

Have an amazing weekend!

Ooh, so wait does that mean no more being automatically booted from the hospital? 🫢

Teia Buckner

Omg you are out doing ourself. I love all ur mods can't wait .....

SimMir99

I am in complete awww of you, your talent, patience and desire to go above and beyond! Amazing!! Can’t wait 💜✨

Naja Højholt

It would be AMAZING if when a sim has a “normal” baby we could have the option to stay at the hospital for a day or so after birth like parents often do irl 🥹 but then maybe somehow have it be optional so that simmers who don’t want to stay at the hospital can still just go back home 🤔 would that be possible perhaps?

Moni

I swear, you're a wizard with mods! This is magic!

Aaralyn Phoenix

Your talent is out of this world and why I continue to monetarily support. I couldn’t imagine Sims 4 🥴 without the childbirth mod 🥳!!!

Simslegacy5083

OMG ❤️ - I love this!! I cannot WAIT to see what you have up your sleeve in terms of the medical/pregnancy/birth complications that will lead to a premature baby. A baby could even be full term but need incubation for something like jaundice - it happens! These hospitals stays are ACTIVE 🤩!?!? Once you have it all worked out (if you get the visitors thing working you'll have even more of my love than you do already, which is a feat, let me tell you 😄) it would be amazing to see another collab with Adeepindigo to update her hospital stays to be active vs rabbithole. Right now I make them active using side saves for my LP. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do. I know I am a broken record but you have changed my game for the better in the best way and I will forever be grateful 🥰

Shadirah Shackelford

omg you are amazing i can't wait to see the next modding diary update!!!

Simlanii

History. Constantly making history. I'm so happy to have seen this from the start to now. Amazing! You have my unwavering support.

Clara Gott

As a rainbow and premature baby who spent almost a month on NICU, thank you so much for this 🥺 I love your mods so much. I can feel the love and effort you put on them. It makes the game so much more immersing and so unique. Thank you, PandaSama🐾🤍

se vincents (sara)

i don't even *have* words. you made that from NOTHING. i'm just....whoa

Katie Hernandez

This looks great! A smaller baby?! You’re a freaking genius! I was thinking one of the interactions between a sim and the baby in the incubator would be where the sim puts their hands through the holes and holds their baby’s hand and head comforting them. I say sim because I think that the interactions should be able to be done by anyone including the significant other, family, and friends. Here’s an example of what I’m saying. https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/photo/unrecognizable-nurse-caressing-a-newborn-baby-in-an-royalty-free-image/956193216

Aster

I literally could not play this game without you Panda!!

Ashley

OH MY GOSH! Panda, you are absolutely BRILLIANT! Well done, I’m so excited for the day we can play with your precious NICU babies! 😍🥹 Thank you so much for working the way you do to make the game better for all of us! 💗

Yasmin Heskey

Speechless just absolutely amazing ❤️🥹

Katie Ford

Absolutely amazing xx

Sirena Thomas

As a NICU nurse, I love this addition to the mod and your ideas. Will there be like a separate section for the babies or would they be in the room mom gives birth in? How long would they stay there?

Sharese Kerr-Williams

OMG as a mom who had two NICU babies this is a game changer. The question is how long will the baby be there, will the parents be able to leave and come back to visit the baby or will it be like a wormhole type of thing

Beanie

You are so amazing. I literally can’t wait for this to be finished.!!! So excited

Alexandria Walker

Wow! You’re the best! This is so exciting! I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t thank you enough for making the Sims 4 still worth playing after 10 years! You are more than appreciated ❤️

michelle thomas

Thank you for all your hard work it is really appreciated!

Kristen Osunkwo

I’m not sure how much work this would take, but maybe a baby nurse career?? I would love a career centered around this ❤️

JCherelle19

I would like to see premature labor, newborns wrapped in blankets, stillbirth, give birth anywhere

JCherelle19

I know this is a birth mod but do think you might be able to make a working stroller for infants and toddlers?

SariaGaming

Omg ur amazing pandasama :)

Bethany Morledge

This is beyond amazing! I have an idea for it but I imagine it might take a lot of work. What if you could tube-feed your baby? You’ve got the little NG tube perfectly, so maybe you could find a way to make it so that the parent is able to attach a syringe of milk to it and hold it up while it goes through. Maybe you could even do the bit where the parent aspirates the tube first to make sure it’s in the stomach before starting the feed.

Bethany Morledge

I have experience of doing this with my little boy, so if you would like any help with what happens, I’d be happy to talk to you about it. If you decide to take this on of course 😊

Iyatunde Langley

Amazing 👏, I'm soo excited for this update. Thank u for all the work, sweat and tears.. I would love to see the parents being able to leave the nice baby at the hospital for some days as it grows, maybe the occasional doctor checking on it. The parents sims can visit of course with any siblings or family members. That would be lovely. Thanks so much. You are amazing 👏 ❤️ 💖

Mirja

Hey Panda. :) OK. You did it. I'm speechless... This is... incredible! The babies are TINY! This is... Wow... Just wow.

Bri

Every time I think it can’t get any better than this I always stand corrected when comes to this mod.I just had to comment. Thank you 🫶🏾

Emily

This is amazing, if you could do a medical career to go with this, like an Obgyn/midwife, or having the option to get a doula for the single mummas to get support and use all those amazing animations you've made

RoshySims

It's incredible, I'm amazed by your work, it's spectacular.

Michelle O' Bryan

Incredible! Maybe interpret postpartum care, breast milk donations for the NICU. Maybe once the baby is released, a little happy notification and a moodlet for it

Cynthia

Wow ! I’m impressed. You outdo yourself with each update !

Tatiyana

There’s nothing you can’t do! So excited to see what you do with this ❤️

TRUTH_SAYER

I absolutely lovvvve these mods you do!!! Very realistic. Bravo!

Justine Thomas

This is so cool! With the baby being smaller, does this mean the sim could go into birth in the second trimester or earlier and keep the baby? And if the baby is premature, will the baby stay at the hospital for some days like the moms do if they have csections?

Sydney Butler

Thank you for all of your work! As a birth worker, there’s no way I would be able to play without your mods!

Riley Blanco

You and this are absolutely amazing! I screamed out loud! Thank you!

Startazia

super excited for this update, thank you for all you do for us, Do you think we could maybe get more postpartum emotion updates? such as PPD, PPA ETC? Maybe even Postpartum bodies versus the sims going bak to their original weight?

Rachael Strube

As someone who has been struggling to get pregnant and have this irl experience, being able to live it out in the sims is absolutely amazing. I’m so thankful for you and your hard work 💕

Erica Rhoades

as someone who was born early but also had to go through the same experience herself when I had my daughter, I thank you for this because it brings a realness and also awareness to this. my daughter was in the nicu for 28 days.

PandasamaSims4

I mean the players would have to manually make some room for the NICU, and move the baby to there once they are born. Im thinking something like 2-3 sim days, but there wont be any penalties if they want to stay longer or leave early 🤔

PandasamaSims4

probably 2-3 sim days, I am not sure if its possible to keep the baby there then visit back🤔but I will look into it because it will be really cool

PandasamaSims4

oh wow I actually did not know that's a thing, I will look into it! thank you for the wonderful suggestion! 💞

Kyr

This touches my heart! I have a 2-month-old premature nooboo of my own and as a baby I was also premature. Can't wait to check this out; I'm pretty sure you're my favorite modder!

PandasamaSims4

I will see if its possible to leave the baby at the hospital, that would be really cool if we could!

PandasamaSims4

yes it would mean sims can give birth early 🤗Im not sure if we can leave the baby at the hospital at the moment but I will look into it

PandasamaSims4

I think adeepindigo already has a mod that deals with postpartum emotions, you should check it out! I try not to do things that has already been done by other modders💟

Sirena Thomas

Ok ok I like. 2-3 sim days is enough I feel but the option to be longer is cool too

Mirja

Do not agree. :) and now I've had some time to calm down and can write more. ;) I just find it incredible what you do and get out of this idea. I never thought it was possible to make babies tiny and have them only wear a diaper and these medical... um... what are they called? *laughs* In any case, it’s brilliant! Also these details on the incubator! and while I just saw the holes in the incubator again: They are actually there so that the parents can stretch their hands through them to touch the baby. It wouldn't be possible to transfer that into the game, would it? So that the Sims can also touch their babies this way? Love regards and thank you very much for all your hard work. :)

JessKalamity

this is beyond words amazing, I honestly am in a bit of shock! You bring so much life and depth to this game. I'm SO excited

Darksimz

Oh so small and precious <3 Great work as always!

Samantha Elbourne

I cannot tell you how excited I am that you added this! I experienced having a preemie baby that was born 30 weeks (7 months). He weighed 2 pounds and was 14 inches long. Some of the things we experienced were bradys/decels where the baby's heart rate spikes too high and drops too low or they just stop breathing randomly. We also experienced NEC (Necrotizing Enterocolitis) where the baby experiences gastrointestinal issues that can be fatal. If you can't add anything like this, I understand, I'm just excited you added this and I can have it in my Sim gave when you're done. THANK YOU!

Kimberlee Oosthuizen

I ansolutly love your mod! And as someone who works in children's ICU and sees all these little premie babys, this is so realistic and cute! The only thing I would maybe like to see is an option where our sims gets to choose how they give birth? Like a randomised want/choice

JeweL Swotf

When will we be able to use it? I can't wait :D

Solveig

I love this! I was a tiny tiny premie myself so this feels very realistisc and relatable to me

Li Rhed

omggggg, I love thisss!!.

Lystra Acheampong

This is amazing, so now will adult sims be stuck at the hospital for a couple of days after giving birth?

Dominique

IM in love. my daughter was premature

Teresa Hild

Love this so much! Thank you for all your hard work!

Alexandria Madlock

You are absolutely amazing!! I would love to see doctor or nurse interactions and progressions of the babies health. For example they move from a, incubator to a baby warmer when they get bigger.

Amanda Sturdevent

Love this! Your hard work is very much appreciated and seen!
