beWilder’s Wildest 2023: Opening the Contest! (Patreon)

Hey there one and all, the time is upon us at last! Many of us have been waiting for a lot around here, but for some the wait for this moment has been 5 years in coming! Yes, it’s beWilder’s Wildest time again! We’ve already gone ahead and put up a postings about the whys, how’s and what-to-dos about our bWW23! right here, so instead of pitter-patter around those again, let’s get right on in and kick off the contest right now! It’s time we hand you over to our Hostess Caroline and her co-host Mr. Salvatore Baines, so let the games begin!

Hi there guys and girls, thank you for joining us in the next big thing for the beWilderverse, and for my debut too. I know you’re not here for me though, not yet anyways, you’re here for the island of girls and their attempts to go wild for you, right? *Wink*. Well, the only thing keeping their hopes alive in the tournament is you and your vote, so if they know what’s good for them, they’ll sure show off what makes them all beWilder girls, right? That’s a duty we all share to tell the truth…

… Now, as oddly thrilling as I’m finding it being front and centre for the camera at last, it’s time I turned it over to the board and finally reveal the roster for this contest. Let’s take a good long look.

The Wild Roster

For this contest, the boys upstairs decided, through their rep Salvatore to my right, that we’re going for 16 beauties to inhabit survivor’s island for this contest rather than widdle down a set of 20 to just 8 to participate through prelims like last time. Once again, they’ve split the sheet down the middle and gave half to AoH’s Unshi to fill and the other NTR’s Spooky to do the same. That’s 8 girls each, main cast and out-of-branch wildcards both included mind you! This is how the returned roster looks:

AoH

Natasha Romanov, Lara Croft, Selina “Catwoman” Kyle, Mystique, Kate Johnson, Dyana Carson, Quiet and wildcard Gwen “Spider Gwen” Stacy.

NTR

Noemi Bellocchio, Starling “Kriem” Blakey, Francesca “Frankie” Moreau, Kelsey Matthews, Asana Khar, Alice Wyrick, Bethany Fuller and wildcard Rachel “Raven” Roth.

Few surprises on the list at this stage in the 2-branch, but growing, world… Still, a lot more to fancy there than the still semi-recent Ryder Cup lists, am I right? I believe I am, so don’t bother answering. Next up, as these tournaments go, the girls needed seeding and lots draw for matches. Who here wouldn’t step up to “seed” any one of these ladies, given half a chance? My co-host would, I can see from here. Too bad for us and him we’ve nixed the Prelims rounds that would do the job for us, but wait… I’m being told in my ear… Yes… Ok! From the top box here in the studio the boys upstairs have spoken. They’ve built the seeds off the last bWW18! performances. Sounds fair, right? Well that gets us 13 of 16 set into an order already, but lucky for us the other 3 who are new faces, “rookies” we might call them, can be easily parsed too. Whether we base it on branch relevance, canonization date or first appearance on the page we end up with the same order anyway, so here’s the girls pre-contest ranked, aka Seeded! (Remember, the lower the number, the better the seed!)

Now then, that’s all done. That’s a lot of here and there to share, I know, but it’s all important because it’s what lets us do the most exciting part of all this. Time to look at the brackets as we shaped them… Or should I say… You did!

The Brackets!

The first look at the body of the contest, and what will determine the most which bodies we see pressed together by the pressure! Excited? I… I am… *Blush*. As I just mentioned above, the seeds determine the match ups, but only indirectly, as this time it was decided to let the fans draw the girls lots, only they had no inkling as to what we were asking of them, just to give us paired numbers! The initial round has been kept as being AoH vs NTR girls to ensure some mixing up of pairs and parts, and so by choosing numbers 1-8 in sets of two (AoH Seed-NTR Seed), this is what they left us with:

5-8 – Cat vs Raven.

4-4 – Dyana vs Kriem.

1-2 – Lara vs Kelsey.

7-7 – Quiet vs Alice.

3-3 – Mystique vs Asana.

6-6 – Kate vs Frankie.

2-1 – Natasha vs Noemi.

8-5 – Gwen vs Beth.

The selected set of active Discord fans seemed to like to pair up duplicate numbers, huh? Doing so for 4 of the 7 pics the boys upstairs gave them (the 8th obviously was the remaining girls numbers). Sounds like some evenly matched up matches on paper then, don’t you think? We hope you haven’t missed the headline among them however… Then again, why let your eagle eyes get tired now before we see the spiciness? We’ve got a powerhouse match up in the mix already, maybe even a couple in the works at that! It’s going to make for a hot round and a totally new slant on last contest’s run, we can already tell!

And lastly, before I show you the finalized brackets at last, setting in stone our second tournament for the beWilder history books at last, the booth above has called for me to clear up one last step. We could just go with the random order the fans called out in, but random’s no way to run a railroad, not the whole way anyway, and not when beautiful babes’ bragging rights are on the line. No sir! So making use of our seeds and averaging them out for each pair, it’s being made sure adjoining matches fit in with the idea that the girls who have earned the best seeds get the benefit of the title, plus deference is being paid to the reign champ Lara who gets to open the show, win or lose. Isn’t that nice? Maybe one day I’ll get to trade in the hostess job for the crown? I guess we’ll see.

There we have it, our tournament of utter wildness! Now the next step ahead is to ring the starting bell for Match #1 of 16 and get started with the fun-fun-fun! Remember, all these girls are out to not only prove their popularity but to earn (or retain!) the title of Queen of the beWilderverse! Not to mention earn our grand prize of being our first official test animation star! Will Lara keep her tushy on the throne, or will Kelsey punch up and make it so we’ll crown our second ever to hold the title right from the start? Oh, and don’t forget, I’ve got my own Hostess Caroline challenges too, the first we’ll see in our opening match. We kick off the matchup on Sunday 12th, aka Later Today!
