So when I went to Apple's WWDC 2017 event, I learned about ARKit which is Apple's Augmented Reality Framework for iOS 11, this got me really exited.

I also happen to met a guy from Unity Japan who taught me how to use the beta release of ARKit with Unity and since then I've been wanting to do something with it.

Finally this weekend I just put together this prototype, I'm still unsure what to do with this technology or if I should do something with it in the future.

ARKit will be released with iOS 11 and we will start to see a lot developers creating things like this on 2018.

Let me know if you are interested and any ideas you come up for it.

ARKit Girl Demo

This is just me playing with ARKit and Unity. Still unsure how to use this technology but I'm sure I will figure out lot of cool things. The FPS drops are due to the iOS 11 Screen recording and not from the 3D rendering, the App runs smooth at 60fps. I think Apple has a big plans for Augmented Reality. A first step is to provide ARKit to developers so customers will be able to experience AR via screen of their phones/tablets. But the next step that Apple will take (I believe they will do it) - is to create an AR glasses - and now all of a sudden, thousands of previously created amazing ARKit games/experiences for iPhones could be experienced in a TRUE AR (i.e. via your eyes). Just keep it in mind if you decide to create something for ARKit :)
