Well tis the season and another year has almost past! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and hopefully some time to recharge your batteries amongst the festive madness.

Things are ticking over here nicely so apologies for the lack of updates in the last few weeks but heres a quick overview of things that have been going on:

Unity 5 conversion. Done.

James and I sat down this week together at last and worked through the upgrade and getting it into TFS..  in the end it was relatively painless and 3 solid days on working together and thinking things through as a pair was the key. There are still a few minor issues to tidy up, mainly to do with missing atlas and sprite names in menus, but things are running in my Unity 5 now for the most part and it means we can start getting all the h-scenes in as native vectors,

Rat Girl replaced

Rat girl has stages 1 and 2 finished and the sketch for stage three is really gorgeous too. Previews coming over the next few days.

Shop Update

We missed the run up to Xmas but I believe we are almost there with it now. A brief rundown of items will include some digital exclusives like wallpapers etc that are a massive help with funding the studio, to fan favourites like the artbooks, t shirts, posters and collectors cards. Looking to have a definite launch in the early New Year.

Taps of Eradine News

I've been chatting to Tom at Nutaku about Taps and they area really excited to get it onto their platform as a proper F2P title and launch it with the release of Shards at the same time (or earlier if possible). So James and I are going to sit down next week and come up with some new extensions and flesh it out into a proper development cycle for me to pick up again in the New Year too.

I'll do a full rundown of the new build ideas for this but some early ideas include changing the battle mechanics to include random drops ala WoW and improving Cosmo this way too. At its core it will still be an idler, but I want the battles to actually be fun and more jrpg-esce so that when you are playing, its not just click-click-click.

Lair of the Sucubbus Update

Initial sketches for the jail cells in Chapter 2 are approved for colouring, still awaiting lines from the alter scene. Some initial sketches of characters from chapter 1 are looking good too.

Shards General Update

I need to review exactly what I've shared and havent shared after Xmas as I am completely lost at the moment!!

  • I've seen lots of new NPC animations for about 4 zones (3 male, 3 female uniques in each). 
  • Electric zone and Water Zone full map sketches looked epic and are both underway
  • Electic Zone pub animation for the light made me laugh and is one of those little touches that really look awesome.
  • Fire Zone quests are underway in the engine and whilst James took time out to help with teh Unity 5 conversion, he'll be back on quest lines once his machine is setup with the latest from TFS
  • Frea and Eradine H-Scenes are being written as I type and will be underway ASAP.
