Had a great morning all in all.. nailed that little bitch of a particles issue then made a list, checked it twice, then blasted through the naughty list so that tomorrow and Monday I can focus on beasting through the Nice list.

So the one I wanted to get to was Achievements - it only seems fair that playing the game and unlocking things would yield hearts, and hearts means sexy galleries and artwork so you're gonna want that feature for a first release!

To get there, the obvious link was a Statistics tracker, then use this tracking against achievements and unlock according. I started there...

And this got me thinking a bit about a) an end goal and b) what other things might have statii.

It lead me to the end goal, and given I have 39 bosses, boss 40 was obvious. Eradine herself.

Eradine completes a runthrough of a playthrough which shifts the zone, and shifts the difficulty up a notch. Need to work the mechanics of this out in more detail, but I love this concept.

Secondly, and a hawk eye will pick up the "secret pieces" bit... secret artwork for completing certain tasks somehow. More to follow on this, but there is loads we can do in this space.

Now we're tracking statistics, Achievements were easy to follow. Achievements could a statistical change, and thus we can now have achievements that reward as hearts, shards, gold or even... Secret Pieces!

I was happy with the build so I rebooted into native Mac and updated my Xcode and build a version for iOS too. The camera viewport was ll screwed for everything other than the main screen so I've fixed that and it looks great on my iPad. Only niggle was I do need some load screens now as its pretty slow loading on it, but its the original retina model so no surprise there.

Last but not least, I added the soundtrack we've used in the intro to the game (which we paid the commercial license for so I may as well get my moneys worth!!). The track is called Epic, and isn't to be confused with the Faith No More track of the same name.. you can also turn this, and the SFX channels off from the settings panel now.

Time for a beer I think... much deserved today! :)
