I guess its time to order some Tea tree oil!

Maybe vacuum could lower the boiling point of the teetree oil and enable you to better fractionate the components in distillation. Or at least being it from being just barely able to, to easily able too with the equipment you've available.

absolutely. Although then the amateur would need a vacuum distillation setup. Also a complication. But hopefully i'll have the problem solved soon with an off-the-shelf catalyst.
