1. Sketch

A very rough sketch where I choose the pose and define the proportions of the character. I noticed that I spent half of the time of the whole drawing in the sketch only. Because the sketch is very important have a good base to build on. If the proportions arent right on the sketch, it doesnt matter how beautiful I would color the drawing or how good I would do the next steps, It would look weird in the end.

2. Linework

On the line work I take a brush with a high stabilizator so the strokes wont be wobbly but look smooth. The Linework basically cleans out the sketch and restrict the shape on one line only.

3. Base colors

Here I added the base colors, means just one color to fill the shapes which will be set shadows and highlights next.

4.Shadows

Time to let the drawing feel alive in a room by giving them shadows. I usually imagine from where the light comes and set shadows on the objects and character. The light source here comes from above, thats why you can see the belly and her leg under her wing has a big shadow.

5. Set Lights

To make the light source stand out more, I added a bright highlight on top of the character so now you can clearly see that the light comes from above her.

6. Final effects
I added an overlay over the character which made her darker so she blends in into the room and added some glitter effects because the darker the mood is the better you can see light effects!
