I don't have anything finished to show today, just some early WIPs to let everyone know that I'm alive and working on something new. If you recall from December, I shared two sketches for small projects I was working on. One became my Christmas image, the other was for a commissioned loop.

I wasn't totally satisfied with the pose for the commissioned loop, and made several extra, rougher sketches to try to find something that'd make a more interesting animation. We settled on a different pose and I've already started putting together the "bones" of the animation, which is the very rough flat vector image that I've shared in this post. From here, I'm going to animate the big primary actions and then refine both the art and animations into the secondary actions.

I've been a little busy this month with other obligations, but I'm going to try to finish this loop in a timely manner, after which I'll consider maybe doing one more commissioned loop before jumping entirely into development of my next game. I'm assuming most of you are here specifically for my games, and as a result I sometimes pressure myself to only be working on game projects, but I tackle these loops because I really want to push myself to improve my art and animation skills, which will improve my games in the long run.

Nice. I’m very much a fan of the behind shots.
