Your mission, should you choose to accept it... is to watch a Mission Impossible movie on opening day for the first time!

I had an absolute blast catching up on the first six movies, and now I could not be more excited to hit the drive-in for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One! All I know is that Tom Cruise rides a motorcycle at one point. That's it.

I have the very same feeling to your rating of this movie. This movie felt really weird to me, I'm still not sure where to rank this. But it was still good but not the best. Fallout was better and still the best MI imo.

I watched these first time earlier this year then with you and this was my favourite so far. I definitely expect part 2 to top it. But I loved the classic feel with the big stunts, the villain has a great part 1 backstory connected to Ethan's past, the entity is a very cool high concept villain. Everything just hit the right notes. Maybe because I've seen Flash and Fast X before this in cinemas so compared to that! The villain wasn't someone you were supposed to recognise btw just a pre MI story for Ethan. Kittridge tho was from the first film as the MI leader and he returns here finally. It feels like a final chapter for Ethan which is why I liked it. They had a few he's old jokes like Dial of Destiny failed at. Him trying to work out the car was very nice, he's getting a bit too old for this shit. If we do a 9th Mission Impossible it'll have to be a hes too old movie so I hope they end with part 2!

Cary Elwes hamming it up in the best way possible as usual. Scene stealer. Fucking lovedddd this movie. Still undecided if it’s my top 1 or 2. Definitely up there. Had all the cheeky spy stuff, the insane action set pieces, the emotion, score, acting… everything!

I would probably rank this 3rd or 4th behind Ghost Protocol and Fallout, deciding between this and Rogue Nation. Loved the action/stunts and I cannot believe they got me again with the mask thing. Also I think Hayley Atwell is my new screen crush.

Mission: Impossible isnt really the type of series to make a big death in one movie only to have it reversed in the next. It would also really REALLY undermine the entire point of the villain and therefore, the story.

nothing to do w the movie so to speak but the little moments where you put the mic down for a drink and we could hear the movie audio as you hear it was very helpful for keeping track of being in sync

Didn't know how to feel about this one when it first came out but re-watching it now I dig it a lot, still not my fave but I like it!
