Uh, yeah, so I read the book and I wanted to point out a few things. In the book, Clay receives, listens to, and passes on the tapes in the span of 24 hours. The only characters we actually meet outside of the tapes are Tony and Skye, everyone else we find out about through the tapes. Most of the book is just a transcript of the tapes in italics with Clay’s internal monologue… not in italics. Yeah. Also, all the cringeworthy internet things like “FML” aren’t in the book at all.

Throughout my experience of high school and college, I'm sad to report that teenagers actually talk using hashtags, they use "LOL" and "FML" in actual conversations with other people, and teenagers laugh/giggle whenever anything sexual is brought up in class. When I saw this come true it was a sad moment for me.
