So past couple of days were a bit wild, first the good news is I found a great blender addon that is literally HALVING my render times, that's absolutely insane. If you are interested, it's this one:

So I was really happy with my new sub 2 minute renders, when suddenly, my render PC shut off and I couldn't turn it back on. It turns out one of the power supplies crapped out. I am not sure if it's related to the new addon, I can't imagine it having that effect, however the timing is a bit curious...

Anyway, today I bought a new PSU, but as soon as I started the render, the new PSU just shuts off. It's a 1000W Corsair PSU and all it's powering is 3x980 ti which I figured should be enough headroom, but I guess not?

So tomorrow I will be returning it and picking up a 1300W one, hopefully that will finally work out...

Right now I am rendering out the last angles using one PSU running two cards, so fingers crossed I won't get any more issues.

I'd be interested in hearing if you figure out the PSU issue.

Hey Riko, tech savvy guy here - 3x980 SLI consume a lot, check out the table below: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm GTX 980 Ti 3x SLI 1100W So 1300W should suit you fine, but I'd get 1500 just to be on the safe side. Best of luck and we hope for an update soon! :)

np, I might tweet about it as well, it's honestly insane

Yeah, turns out it was one of the graphic cards that was faulty

Hi, turns out it was faulty GPU. If i measure the wattage with GPU-Z it shows about 190W peak per one 980ti, so should be fine
