Dogti

According to Natsuki Takaya, nothing really changes during the production of Furuba. Not that she can remember, at least. And I don't think she even mention in the Fan Books about homosexuality and that kind of things. Love is an umbrella term and we often interpret it as romantic, when it might not be. Like Tohru and Yuki, for example. If anything, questioning gender and love is something I've seen way more when the author is a woman. Maybe it's a question of sensibility, how they question the world based on their own role in society (women being the strong one traditionally in the house). My deepest conviction in that Ritsu was created after Akito's role in the story might have change. It makes too much sense to me, considering their story and characteristic, since the little monkey one what teased a lot in the hot spring arc but Ritsu could have been erased and nothing would have changed. As for Akito, being a woman has a real pay off and explains a lot about the last part of the story, but that's season 3 territory. Anyway, glad you never see that coming, can't wait to see your reaction to season 3 :p
