in the manga from my memory, there was a longer arc without any Tohru with her just in the hospital, but this whole season a lot of "filler" (i don't think it's really filler) was cut from the manga. i really love this season but i do think it needed more breathing room in between the big plot points. like i agree that we see Tohru sitting up in the hospital room too soon, we should've had more time with the other characters to process things. and about Yuki walking away, i think he just wanted to give them a moment of privacy, i don't think it was like he didn't care about her, we can see on his face he is extremely worried.

This is a packed episode and I do think they did a good job in adapting the events but I agree that it would be more beneficial to have more of a "settling the mood" scenes which are more elaborated in the manga, as you can see more of the characters reactions etc. I always thought that Yuki did react according to his character in this situation. He went there, watched over her to see how she was, called the ambulance and was with Tohru until Kyo showed up. He was caring for her in a very responsible way, which is pretty much Yuki overall. Once Kyo arrived, he left to give them space but not because he was done with the situation but because he knew they needed their privacy specially after he saw them talking pretty seriously before everything went downhill. I love that scene of Akito and Momiji. You see Akito finally having to face reality and starting to "resocialize". She does not know how it is to be at the same level as other people, how to interact with them and even how to talk with people that are not zodiac members or staff. And in that moment, she finds in Momiji, someone who is free from the bond, a person who not only went to talk to her but also offered advice and perspective is really important for her development. He is not reaching her out of the bond, but because he is somewhat interested and saw she may need some help.
