Do take note: the scientist that was part of Viktor's childhood is the same guy who worked with Silco at the start of the series and the creator of Shimmer (the purple drug). The reason he looks different now (scarred with burns) is because of the explosion caused by Powder in episode 3.

Every creative wants to leave their mark in the world. I get that he is trying to prevent DOOM, but you can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs, the greatest safety measures of our time are often written in blood for a reason. "Ah, you give it a few 20-30 years and it will be good" Bro, i want to be retired by then, dafuq you mean 30 years? Like seeking his advice and wisdom is good, but if he wants to be "in charge" of the scientific development, he needs to understand that not everybody share his lifespan, he has the luxury to tinker in a project for 80 years, but others want to finish it in 10. Otherwise he comes of as apathetic. Either emphatize with us, or move aside and stop killing dreams and possibilities.

Also for someone who wants to be seen as a mentor and guide Piltover, I kind of agree with Jayce when he says what is your plan to fix this mess? Does he know what's going on in the lanes? It seems like he's pretty cut off from things going on outside of his bubble, which I would be fine with. All the councilors are cut off from things outside of their bubble, but you sir are 300 years old and founded this place, unacceptable.

I really love how well thought through the immortallity of Heimerdinger is written and how it affects his character. His biggest character flaw is neglect. Everyone he known has died and he knows that everyone he meets he will loose some day. To bare this grief he neglects bad things around him to enjoy the moments while they last. We saw that shown in the concert, he was the only one enjoying the concert neglecting the coruption around him. That's why he didn't saw how the power had shifted against him. Also he focuses on sience and inventions that benefit the city as a whole and not individuals. To him all that's importend is to evade the big disasters. He accapted that people suffer get sick and die because that's what he will have to see them do no matter what. We see that in the interaction with Victor he never thinks about something could be done to extend his live, but has accepted that everything but him will die and makes peace with it or better neglect it and accapt when it's happening. And that's the same neglect he shown to the growing divide between top and bottom. He and his politic as the head of the councle led to this situation and he has no plan what to change.
