2023-12-24 00:30:53 Great discussion, I was really looking forward to it, this is one of my favorite episode. As your edits imply, there will be all sorts of endings to every one’s conflicts. Some I love, some I REALLY don’t agree with XD But it shows how much the author but thoughts into her story for me.

Amazing discussion. Just a clarification, Akito is not the same age as Yuki and others. He is atleast a few years older, somewhere around 20 here I think. As for the discussion, I totally get Carson's pov regarding the yuki and his mom thing. I do think the show did such a good job of showing that the mom that he thought was this engulfing presence as a child is just a frail human being that he is finally beginning to see as someone who has decided to overcome it. I agree with Lindsey's point that he necessarily did not go out to mend things but rather to let her know that he is capable of making decisions. But yeah, your discussions are amazing Carson, and Lindsey too (goes without saying lol). Sometimes you do get off track with discussions but honestly i see it as you being super invested in the story, so its kind of endearing. I really appreciate your and Lindsey's thoughts and ability to intricately go through story details. Can't wait to watch the rest. And Merry Christmas to you guys :)

I do vaguely believe that the Yuki Conference dramatic-ness of the scene is intentional. The craziness and intensity of the mother is supposed to be suffocating, which is why when they bring in Ayame it intentionally is dealing the opposite effect. We the viewer are used to Ayame’s enthusiastic and flamboyant antics. So rather than tying to introduce a ‘crazier’ element to the scene, it’s actually trying to present almost a feeling of familiarity and relief. Because in that scene, Ayame isn’t supposed to be the shocking and surprising gag he usually is, he’s supposed to be (as he is to Yuki) a source of comfort in a very uncomfortable environment.
