Smoker is so great. A bit of a rogue within the Marine, you could say! I bet you've alredy heard this by now, but Loguetown comes from the UK English spelling of prologue/epilogue, because it's "the city of the beginning and the end". This short arc that follow the longer intense Arlong arc has so much interesting lore, doesn't it? Like a tease of what you can expect in the future. Just a heads up: there is a lot of non-canon padding in these episodes where I think the characters are just a little off. A few examples: - Luffy not drinking alcohol. You've even already seen him do it, when they welcome Usopp to the crew. - The scene with Sanji talking about women as food. - The whole bit of Zoro meeting Tashigi before the sword shop and breaking her glasses and being taken to the marine base. - Luffy getting lost on his way to the execution platform, him failing to climb it, getting stuck, and flying away across the town. Since Loguetown is only four chapters (96-100) stretching that to six episodes made filler necessary, but there are a few instances where I think it did the characters a disservice. It's funny what you say about old guy at the bar, because technically he *is* filler. What he's saying is pretty much all canon, but he himself is only in the novelisation of this arc, as far as I know. Supposedly Oda wanted to include this bit in the manga, but I don't have a source for that. (This arc is particularly bad with filler within otherwise canon episodes. There are fewer canon scenes than filler scenes, lol. The filler isn't about the plot or lore reveals though, it's mostly the characters behaving more like idiots than they normally would. The sword shop scene is completely canon, of course, aside from Tashigi commenting on Zoro leaving the marine base.) Zoro didn't know the name of Kuina's sword, he asked for it to carry her will. But it says a lot that her father let him have it, I think, because *he* must have known about it. About the classifications: "wazamono" (業物) can mean something along the lines of "artisan made thing", literally. But it's specifically used (historically in real life too) for swords made by a master swordsmith. In One Piece there are three grades above the basic one. One is ō-wazamono (大業物), "great artisan blade", of which there are 21. Wadō ichimonji is one of those. Yubashiri is a ryō-wazamono (良業物) "good artisan blade", so not as fine, but still an extremely valuable sword. There are only 12 saijō ō-wazamono (最上大業物) "finest/supreme great artisan blade", which is the highest grade. These are actually the same classifications as in the historical Edo period list of artisan blades made by the blade tester and offical executioner Yamada Asaemon. Even in real life there were only 12 saijō ō-wazamono! ("Artisan" may not be the best translation, english is my second language. I don't know what the official English manga says about it.) It doesn't come up in the manga, but in one of the databooks it's revealed that Mihawk's blade is indeed a saijō ō-wazamono! It's called "Yoru" (night).

If your japanese, can you please tell me rather or not Crunchy subs are accurate to the original source or if funimation is more accurate. I seem to identify alot of mistakes in the translation and gramatical errors with CR subs. How ever when I read the unofficial scanlations for the manga, they just seem more authenticate to me. Like the previous lines in the most recent arc with the battle against (Kdo), it was just so terrible and very simple like it was a google translation. Ymto's speech for example was one of the highlights of that chapter and so was Kdo's dialogue, but the shoddy translation really brought it down.
