Hallo loves.

Greetings from somewhere between NY and Boston, where I am barely even trying to pretentd that I'm getting it all done gracefully. I made this video yesterday morning about really identifying with the squirrel in the road.

Meanwhile, Holly Miranda and I are scrambling to get the mix ready for the Madona song and I've been listening to mixes on my phone, in bed early morning and end-of-night, beacuse I'm that tired. There were some technical problems, but FUCK, it's good and it's coming. Jherek Bischoff is mastering it, from somewhere in Germany where he’s working on an opera but squeezing us in.

I'm so glad so many of you watched Sophie's talk (posted a few days ago). I may wait until Janurary to put it out on socials, so than you for all the quotes you're sending. I have the feeling that RIGHT NOW is not the time to send the world a 90-minute cerebral video clip. (Thoughts?)

So - yeah. I'm fantastically behind. Whatever. We all are, I think. It’s that time of year. We did what we could.

I was supposed to spend the day yesterday working on promoting the Sophie video and getting the Madonna song ready: I spent it Christmas shopping for friends and family instead since I have to take another emergency trip to Boston.

It's gonna be fine, it's all gonna be fine. Things - and people - they come and they go.

Be here now.

I’m glad you’re here with me, now.

HOUSEKEEPING :

There's been a pretty endless barrage of announcements and information coming at your over the past couple of weeks, so here's a very quick missive just summing up ALL THE THINGS that are coming down the pike, live-wise

First up, very soon:

CALIFORNIA

WHO IS COMING AND WHAT ARE YOU WEARING AND WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER AT THE BAR? ??????

Our old friend Kat Robichaud (from The Voice) is going to play Master of Ceremonies!!!

We will have tons of surprises!!! DRAG ACTS!!! WAYWARD ACCORDION PLAYERS!!!! AERIAL STUNTS!!! A blessing from the SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE!!!

It's a weird parta town, so make plans, spread the word, and GET TO THE VENUE ON TIME, you won't wanna miss a single second of this evening.

There's just about 300 tickets left for this show, and the theater is GORGEOUS!!!!!!

We're hoping it sells out before the day of. I know it's pricey, but this one is worth it.

We're gonna do a lotta laughing and crying.

COME. Come with your family. Come alone. Come meet a friend. Just come.

GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!!!

Dudes....this is a SHOW..... allow me to introduce to the PUNK CABARET CIRCUS that we've assembled.

Here's a little rundown of some of the weird and wonderful guests joining us throughout the night:

KAT ROBICHAUD is our mistress of ceremonies. She writes songs about famous fictional characters, serial killers, and emotional hang ups. She resides in Oakland, California where she writes, co-produces, and stars in Kat Robichaud's Misfit Cabaret (www.krmisfitcabaret.com), a musical variety show featuring live music, drag, burlesque, puppets, and other darling misfits. She was on The Voice once, but she much prefers to be nestled in her weird world of artists and cabaret performers. She also has a Patreon at patreon.com/katrobichaud !!! Her latest Misfit Cabaret is going to be A Very Merry Misfit Cabaret, happening THIS WEEKEND and NEXT WEEKEND in SF! Check it out here.

THE SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE ® are a leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns. They believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty. They use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be on call for individual blessings for the New Year, as well as a very special blessing to welcome in the party gods of Barbary Coast's debaucherous past.

BRENDAN GETZELL is a golden pony boy pianist, Misfit Cabaret musical director, and host to the oldest open mic in San Francisco history. He'll be banging on the keys and caterwauling into the rafters with Kat.

POLLY AMBER ROSS are ghostly, ghastly drag creatures in SF who will perform a spell-binding lip sync of their muse, Amanda Palmer, as well as deign to pose and promenade in their finest regalia.

SNATCH ADAMS is a circus, burlesque, and a whole lotta wild woman, and will be performing her famous bubble act, as seen on the stages of Peaches and The Ruckus and Rumpus Revival.

AURORA ROSE is a pole and dirty dancer extraordinaire who is fucking the patriarchy one eight inch heel at a time. As seen on Fox News, they will perform a chair dance that just might help you make the most wonderful bad decisions. They'll also be dusting you off as you enter the soirée to make sure you're extra sparkly for the night's festivities!

TRIXXIE CARR is an internationally obscure subculture celebrity + shapeshifter + creator....BUT OH NO!!!! Trixxie's time machine just catapulted her from Wiemar Berlin to present day and she is SO CONFUSED! Please try and help orient her to the horrors of 2023!

DONATELLA is a vagabond accordionist, who will be wandering in corners, playing old 80s songs, daring lookiloos to sing along!

And... in case you forgot what WE LOOK LIKE when we are absolutely slaying, here's a few photos from the recent LA and San Diego shows...YAYYYYYYYYY

But for now, IF YOU WANNA BUY YERSELF SOMETHING NICE, don't forget you can ALREADY buy the NEW VINYL SINGLE:

We've pressed "The Man Who Ate Too Much" and "The Ballad of the New York Times" together on one gorgeous vinyl - dubbed "Two Songs From The Land of the Long White Cloud", available now from amandapalmer.net/shop

Each copy is pressed on eco-recycled vinyl, meaning basically pressed onto the off-cuts of other records... ZERO WASTE! HOORAY!

They also come with a beautiful insert, designed to look like a New York Times front page... but with writing from yours truly about my two years being waylaid. Here's me showing off the vinyl and the insert at Graveside a couple weeks back:

We're gonna be selling these on the road in Australia and New Zealand next year, but there are also a limited number available on the US store, the UK store, and the Australian store. GO GET!!!!

......

SEE YOU SOON.

I hope.

I'll be sending you all love on xmas and beyond.

We all need it.

Hey 👋. I’m keen to travel to Melbourne from Brisbane for the show. Is there a special ticket link for patrons?

John Van Dinther

I have an extra ticket to the New Years Show at The UC Theater, the reason I have the extra ticket is so sad it makes me want to throw up... anyhooo. How do I give away a spare ticket? I don't want company, I'll just be screaming at the stage and crying alone in the corner thank you very much.
