Hi all.

Greetings from a brief reprieve where I buy myself some food and for kicks put on some lippy and feel sorta normal for a moment.

I just spent 8 hours straight in the hospital making phone calls in the hall, dealing with decisions, radiation mapping appointments, and holding impossible thoughts.

I am, in the end, always fundamentally happy, because there is sort of no other viable option. I took this picture of myself at 6:45pm.

I, as an artist, songwriter, mother, divorcée, hospital-dweller and

person-in-the-endless-spinning-world

feel deeply and poetically grateful for the existence of the Melting Face.

There is Dalí, there is Kahlo, there is Adorno…there are many thinkers/artists through time.

But I wish I could give the artist who rendered this emoji a life-long hug. Because, truly, it captures a moment in this Zeitgeist like no poem could.

And…go.
