HELLO LOVES.

Greetings from Graveside Variety, in Woodstock, NY.

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you who came to the dolls shows!!! And to the 100 of you who came to the patron brunch. It was allllll epic. Photos coming, promise, at the very least we'll stick em all in the Althing. Everyone here is seeing stars and birds.

I have so, so much to get off my desk and into your heads and I never wanna overwhelm you, but now that the gigantic run of Dolls shows at Colony is over (IT WAS AMAZING, PHOTOS COMING, hang on) I am stumbling back to work and trying to catch my breath before heading to Riot Fest, where we play on the 17th.

I am rehearsing my ass off (well, as much as I can) and getting my soul prepared to meet Robert Smith, because we have the LAST SLOT, before The Cure on Sunday.

It's fecckin huge. Wish us luck. Also, tickets for the whole festival are almost gone, so if you missed out / you're on the fence, this is the last moment: https://riotfest.org/

It's the biggest dolls gig (in every way ) of our year and I wanna have a clear head and a clear heart, but it's also Ash's birthday the day before, AND the 15th anniversary of WHO KILLED AMANDA PALMER, my first solo album, on the 16th (I HAVE A SURPRIIIIISE THING FOR YOUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHHHH......) and my ever-bulging-disintegrating inbox and list of things to do and put out to tend t......all while trying to keep my art-heart alive and my life worth living.

DUDES.

IT'S A TALL ORDER BUT I AM UP TO THE TASK DAMMIT.

What wonderful problems, honestly. Finish a song? Pick up these legos? Approve a podcast? Patch up a leak at the venue? Fix my finances? Figure out the rest of my life? Clean the fridge? I DUNNO. BUT WHAT LOVELY THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM instead of the dark-ass shitty-ass shit I was having to choose from about a year ago.

I heart my new problems a lot. A real lot.

My friends and my loves around me are bringing me extreme joy.

Here's me taking a walk with Rachel and Hayley. I wrote, under this photo on socials:

FIRST UP, BEFORE ANNNNYYYYTHING!!! Michael and I sat down and scrutinized the calendar and NAILED DOWN THE NEXT THREE WEBCASTS for the $10 patrons. I'll send this list in a separate post to the $10 folks ASAP, but for those of you who have dropped off the $10 tier, or who are wanting to plan ahead so you can be awake...THIS IS IT FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS!! The casts usually last 2+ hours, I am going to do the usual combo of Q&A, sharing, crying, bringing people onto stage, trying new songs, and community love-land that makes this all worth it:

Thu, Sept 21st - 11:11am

Tue, Oct 10th - 6pm

Tue, Nov 14th - 11:11am

LOCK AND LOAD EM INTO YOUR CALENDAR, PEOPLE.

How does it work? For those of you who are new or curious: the webcasts are held on a platform CROWDCAST, and you need to input your patreon ID to access the links I send. So even if I send the links to the whole patreon, you'll only be able to access the webcasts if you're a $10+ patron and logged in, and I ALWAYS send a little notification via patreon/email within an hour before the cast, to remind y'all.

.........

Now, I shall shake and show off my newly strawberried mane, care of @jeweldoeshair. We met on instagram like a month ago, have a many a few life and death things in common, and VOILA, hair magic and new friends. YESSSS.

Jewel’s shop is gorgeous and in Saugerties, and they specialize in CURLS.

Which I don’t have but whatever.

RECOMMENDED. Send love.

Behind me in this glorious hair selfie is the gorgeous growing wall of PATRON-ART that the AFP patrons have brought in to donate to the PATRON ART WALL of Graveside. If you’re a patron and you’re coming to any upcoming events at our little speakeasy cabaret here in El Woodstock-o, BRING AN ART! We have hooks and wire and a hammer and nails and schtuff and we will HANG IT.

Featured: the lighthouse that patron Betsey’s mama drew right before she passed away recently.

God I love this life, and I love lighthouses. Could you tell?

I do. Ash was like: IF YOU LVOE THEM SO MUCH WHY DON’T YOU MARRY ONE and I was like YEAH IF I COULD MARRY A LIGHTHOUSE I WOULD SO DON’T TEMPT ME KID.

Speaking of Things fun and surreal, let’s talk Graveside: there’s THREE awesome events in the next few days…TOMORROW MORNING (Saturday, Sept 9th at 10-11am), Sxip and Coco and a handful of other friends are doing our first OFFICIAL KIDS SHOW: we’re calling it the WILD RUMPUS kids under 5 are free, it’s almost sold out, COME!! BRING KIDDOS. We will read stories and play and make music and rumpus!!!

Then, tomorrow night, SXIP'S Hour of Charm, an AMAZING VARIETY SHOW! Almost sold out, so get on it: with guests Sophie Strand, Holly Miranda, Jackie Dishl, Raquel Acevedo Klein, Lacy Rose, Amy Gordon, the amazing Terry Dame, Michael Arthur And the Oud-playing Rabbi Zach.

THEN ON MONDAY NIGHT (Sept 11th) - tickets are ALMOST GONE for the last-minute surprise little “DEVOTCHKA STRIPPED DOWN!” -

Nick and Tom from Devotchka (the dolls old touring friends!!!) are doing a special intimate show with us at 7pm.

All tickets at gravesidevariety.com.

Get on it.

That's all for now.

I lurve you all.

Here's to The Cure and the Great Clean.

How are YOU ALLL??

Can you tell I've had 3 cups of coffee today?

CAN YOU????

I love this update! How are we? Well, I'm dealing with the stuff that comes along with IVF, but hopefully I'll get one more baby out of the deal. It's weird. It's like this luxury thing we're able to do and also it's a lot of painful or just unpleasant stuff. Today, my 'nads hurt, 'cause egg retrieval... but it went well! So, yay :) Homeschool group stuff is going well! We're getting an even bigger community, and it's people I like and feel are trust worthy. We're in a good place. I feel a bit like you have expressed for yourself: a lot to do but it's all stuff I'm really glad to be able to do and to have the option of doing. <3

I used to have wavy/curly hair, but postmenopausal hormones have made it less so. And darker, much darker. Whatever. I look so different now, is all. Amanda, your hair looks truly fabulous and suits you! I laughed at Ash saying you should marry the lighthouse because I totally read that joke in Pee Wee Herman's voice and probably always will. Last, I urge anyone who can possibly attend to get to Sxip's Hour of Charm show — you will love every second of it. I went earlier this year at National Sawdust (with Amanda as a surprise guest!) and it was a huge spirit boost. So much fun, such great music, and so fascinating. Go, go, go!

I will be there on the 21st & most likely all other streams aswell.

I'm not sure how much it would cost me from the UK, but I'd still like to ship you a small piece of art. Is it OK to just send to Graveside or do I have to wait for a PO Box?

Vicki Solomon

What time zone are the chats?

Deniz Bevan

I was wondering about this too -- can we send art from abroad if we won't have a chance to make it to Graveside in the near future?

Len Tower Jr.

EST (East Coast, USA), You can verify that once you join the Crowdcast (the link is not yet announced.) Crowdcast will tell you how long until the web cast starts. Best, Len

alisa pronovost

I would love to ship some art work. Where can we send it?
