Hello my loves

Greetings from Woodstock, where I’m a very tired rock star hanging out with Auntie Donna and her air plants. I do this every weekend. I bring her an iced mocha and I sit here in the lawn chair.

Current pov.

If you’re around Woodstock tomorrow before or after the patron brunch, she’s at the Woodstock Flea Market from around 9-5 and if you buy an air plant from her and tell her Amanda sent you you’ll make her goddamn day. The market’s right behind Bread Alone in the center of town. (22 Mill Hill Rd, Woodstock).

She’s been working this market since the early 80s…every damn weekend. Selling air plants.

Donna and I have the same hair.

We both do the always-updo.

(And my catskills cousin, Shawn).

They eat dust, these plants. They eat DIRT THAT FLOATS IN THE AIR. Cmon.

They’re survivors, these plants.

Helpers. I have a ton of these in my kitchen.

Plants and brunch aside…

THE DOLLS HAVE BEEN ON FIRE.

We killed nights 1 and 2 and it’s time to head to the venue for night 3.

We’ve been playing classics and four new songs every night and my soul feels so home, so happy, so settled.

I have so many things on my soul to share; feelings about playing these new tunes, stories I have heard on the side from the community, little things I’ve read in notes and letters I’ve been handed.

I’ve missed my job so much. I love it.

Brian loves it. We live for this shit.

The brigade is back: Betsy, Scott, Kaleigh and Angel welcoming folks outside with stilt walking and poetry…

Charming Disaster have been welcoming everyone into the lobby.  www.charmingdisaster.com

They’re playing at Graveside Sept 28 and the tickets are flying so grab some!! Gravesidevariety.Com

And the shows….

My god.

Ps. As I was literally about to post this, three patrons who are coming to the dolls tonight came up to the air plant table: Mary, Kristin and Ashley. They’re currently …. buying plants. And that’s Jaryd in the NY Yankees cap, photobombing. He just talked to me for ten minutes and told me a bunch of dirty jokes.

Not me getting on Patreon to tell everyone that the guy who owns bread alone is cheap and doesn’t support sex workers very well! Or didn’t when I was in college a few years ago…

Hey! That's me in the photo of the lovely stilters and poetry person who greeted us at the show at Colony Friday night. (I have my arms crossed wearing a waist cincher and flats to dance!) Oh, Amanda, thank you! I have been in such a funk lately and really needed to get out and about. I want to have a conversation with you one day but would have no idea how to jump into that one. The chances of running into you are high since I live one town over, but I would probably wave and not disturb you while you're going about your day. Eh, lack of confidence and anxiety get in the way. So, I will keep following you and hearing what you are up to kinda wishing I was more a part of it all. I had similar experience with Nathan Monk at Graveside, but I DID small talk with him, so there have been steps forward. For someone in my position (employment wise) you would imagine I had no issues conversing with people, but I still do when it comes to people I respect and look to for inspiration, and you doll, are one of those people! Ugh, I should go to the brunch later today...

Dude I love this. I was one of the doubters about Graveside Variety, but you're making it a home-away-from-home for so many folks. Thank you!

That looks like it was so fun! I hope to get to see you perform one day and Charming Disaster too.
