Still collapsed from the dolls shows. Working hard on a post about the whole circus and hoping to get it done and out before school holiday break. Buried. Happy.

For now, a small vignette.

I promise, I pinky SWEAR, I absolutely commit to not becoming one of those insufferable parents who barrages you with kid art. Unless I feel it curatorially necessary for the advancement of society - or to add to the darkly-tinged net delight of the universe.

Setting: Bed, after bathtime and before Narnia.

Ash: Mom how do you spell apocalypse

Me: How do you think?

Ash: A P O C A L Y P E

Me: Real close not quite

Ash: Come look at my drawing

Me: Is he…wait, is this a he or a she?

Ash: It doesn’t matter

Me: I have taught you well

Ash: Those meters on the head measure the amount of apocalypse on earth

Me: Why are there two?

Ash: There are two so you can see each side of the world.

Me: Ok. Which side of the world has more apocalypse?

Ash: (thinks….) The left side.

Mother goes to the kitchen quietly crying and makes a yet another small and probably insignificant donation to act blue.
