Hola dear ones...

i owe you more of a real-life update, und i'll try to do one tomorrow... but short story updtate before i delve: my soul-sister jason webley and i just co-created a KILLER BATCH of bizarre and beautiful new songs in a marathon writing and recording in upstate new york, and my OTHER soul sister, mister brian viglione of the dresden dolls JUST pulled up in the driveway for a 6-day marathon dresden dolls rehearsal to prepare for our shows next week. yesterday i rehearsed 19 songs. 19. some of the songs i hadn't played since 2007. one of them made me cry. bawl. not surprised.

but still. it's an interesting feeling, being alone in a room having an old song hit you in the gut like that. i wonder if this'll be the case for other people at the shows. it's like taking the lid of something that's neer stopped boiling....all those old emotions...they just don't go away. they just sit around waiting to be eaten. bad metaphor again.

anyway. i fucking love the dresden dolls. i've missed these songs. i've missed my band. i missed brian. i'm so so happy we're playing together again. and we'll see how it goes. meanwhile - we ARE thinking (due to the demand from you guys) of webcasting-thinging the last show - on coney island. yes? no? vote in the comments below and i'll tally. we haven't hired anyone to do the webcasting yet but we'd need to get right the fuck on that.

and MEANWHILE....we're commemorating these shows with a brand-now, painted-for-these shows GORGEOUS image made by MALLEUS in italy. these guys have now created upwards of 6 or 7 posters for the dolls and for me...and this one takes the cake. we lovvvve it. we are selling the posters AT THE SHOWS, signed, but for those of you out there far far away, we're also going to sign a batch here at my house while we're at it for those of you who wanna order over the internet.
