quick missive from a jetlagged me in london @ 4 am... (Patreon)

HI I LOVE YOU. i just landed in london for two shows (one tomorrow, jherek's release for his beautiful new record "cistern", which is sold out but i know i'll see a few of you there) and then the david bowie proms @ royal albert hall on 29th - and i'll see a lot of you. i'm fecking toasted. that doesn't mean i might pluck up my courage and do something weird in a bar...i just didn't bring my ukulele for fear of it getting lost again. so if anybody in london has a ukulele, i may need you. meanwhile, before i collapse in a heap of 4am:

i've been flailing to work on a new video (secret!), the mixes of the edward record (i'm here for one last stab at voclas and a few string overdubs!) and making touring plans for the fall (US! europe!!! yeeee) and i  just spent OVER AN HOUR *just starting* to read over all the comments you guys posted about ALL THE THINGS. i need another hour to finish (i want to read EVERYTHING) but JESUS YOU GUYS - you're all so goddam kind and intelligent and wise and funny and i just want to cry. i feel so grateful to have such a fantastic group of people around me. i need to write and collect all of my thoughts...i will try tomorrow. there's too much important stuff to bang it out sleepless.

as you probably know, THE DRESDEN DOLLS ARE DOING TWO SHOWS IN AUGUST, one in boston august 26, one in new york, coney island, august 27th. 

**WE ARE ALSO GOING TO DO A WARM-UP SHOW!!! 

bands need to warm-up, it's a thing. we haven't played for a long long time and doing a warm-up show two days before the real deal will help us tweak our crew, make sure all the gear is working, really play with each other in a loud loud space and basically dust any remaining cobwebs off our brains that aren't removable in a practice space.

the venue we've chosen for the warm-up show is in a speak-easy-type-theatery-club space in UPSTATE NEW YORK near hudson and it only fits about 500 people - that means the tickets will FLY.

the warm up show is on august 24th. it's gonna be SICK.
