can you help me not put a bunch of CDs in a landfill? (Patreon)

hallo loves.

quickie for the locals....if you're in hawke's bay, i'm doing THIS at the hastings opera house TONIGHT (tuesday), super last minute. it's called pecha kucha, where a bunch of folks show 20 slides and talk about them for 20 seconds each. i grabbed 20 photos off my instagram and i'm just gonna make shit up! come! it's $7. drink with me after: much more coming your way and soon, but i had to get this burning THING off my desk.

i have a quick offer/question for you:

SO...my merch storehouse in america is about to change hands. we have literally FOUR THOUSAND of each of these CDs below...they have been selling in a TRICKLE, a few hundred a year now that CDs are very out, er, of fashion:

1. "Theatre is Evil": this was my infamous "kickstarter record" with full band....it came out in 2012 and is a fantastic recording if i do say so myself....with fantastically lush packaging. there's a slipcase and really beautiful photography. the tracklist (and album, to taste) is here: my favoerite track on this album is "the bed song"...followed close by "trout heart replica".....

2. "An Evening With Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer": this was also a crowdfunded record that came out in 2013 after neil and i did a tour together of the west coast. it's a two-disc set with FORTY tracks. here's the whole tracklisting. some of the most beautiful bits: neil and i doing a duet of "makin' whoopee", neil reading "the man who forgot ray bradbury", and much much much more. the artwork is also gorgeous and by cynthia von buhler. 

again, we have about 4,000+ of EACH OF THESE CDs.

the warehouse currently wants to "pulp them": i.e. put them in a landfill.

that breaks my heart. we don't have enough storage space for 8,000 CDs at my place. we will probably keep about 600 of each CD for upcoming tours and stuff.

so what do i do with them? idea time:

i would rather just send them to you patrons for ZERO COST, i.e. the cost of just shipping and handling, than see them in a landfill/dump, creating environmental havoc.

so here is the question for you: if i made these pretty much FREE (plus whatever shipping & handling costs to your address on the planet from america)...would you just take them?

you can do whatever you want to/with them. listen to them in your car. give them as christmas presents. make them into beer coasters. turn them into car hood ornaments. TURN THEM INTO FRISBEES!!!! DOG CHEW TOYS!!!! ANYTHING BUT LANDFILL, PLEASE.

if at least a few hundred of you say YES, we will build a page for it and make it happen.

tell me, and if we do this, the offer will happen pretty soon (probably in the next couple of weeks) and i will hold you to your pledge to SAVE THE CDS and therefore SAVE THE EARTH.

meanwhile....

i'm busy....plugging away at the pile over here...getting back into some kind of semi-automatic groove. i GOT A DESK...from the same kind community folks who loaned me and xanthea a CAR. many thanks to lynda and adam, who are basically the Neighbors of Requirement. they even have a pinball machine that ash is obsessed with. they have EVERYTHING. 

i love my new desk. this is my desk. 

i can also watch the laundry dry on the hills hoist while i sit and work. 

this is very calming. when i need a breather from making calls and answering emails, i go and pat the chickens. 

my desk has brought me peace of mind. i've also finally put up a wall calendar and created post-it notes for all my patreon, etc, projects in process. this is also extremely fucking calming for me and i feel ... less crazy this week.
