hallo loves. 

someone said to me yesterday, on instagram i think:

“when life gives you new zealand tour new zealand“. 

i want this embroidered on a pillow. yes. 

as the rest of the world goes through what it is going through, i am more grateful, exponentially every day, that i happen to be stuck living at these particular global coordinates. it’s so weird. 

it’s so weird. i still can’t believe i am still here. but i am. 

and i was not planning on touring, but i am in one of the only countries where it is possible to tour and play to 1,000 people in a theater. 

so i am doing it, because it seems insane NOT to do it. i’m not even sure what i will play. new things are arriving in my head. and there’s plenty to say about what’s been going on. i have a feeling these shows will be some of the most profound of my career. i cannot wait. 

so...about two weeks ago i announced the rescheduled show in wellington (to make up for the canceled show in march) and a new show in hawke's bay....

the august 29th show in wellington sold out super-quickly (!) so i added a second, on friday, august 28th, which you (and the public) can get tickets for NOW, here: https://fringeaf.online.red61.com.au/event/446:1023/446:3891

this one will be for the parents, the families, the faithful, and the kids!!! ash will be with me, dancing around like a weirdo. i will play material thats kid-friendly and we will have a blast!! bring EVERYONE!!! come if you don’t have kids!! it’ll just be silly and fun. from the official event description:

a little note: the fringe is updating the ticket link now to add the ALL AGES matinee show to the calendar as i type this. the tickets go on sale tomorrow on their website, so make sure to check back then and confirm the all ages show on the 29th before you check out your tickets.

DUNEDIN - THE REGENT THEATRE - **NEWLY ADDED**

there is a place in aoteroa i have never been (or played), and it is...🥁...dunedin!!!! this is where dunedin is. it’s DOWN THERE. 

everybody who came to the show in christchurch in march (that’s the last city i played before lockdown) from dunedin insisted that it is the best place in the world. i put out a post about wanting to play some new and less usual places in aotearoa for these upcoming months that i’m covid-here, and the mayor of dunedin, aaron hawkins saw my post, wrote to me, and forwarded my email to the woman who runs the regent theatre in dunedin. she’s named sarah. she sent an offer. i took it. i’m gonna bring ash with me! WHAT SHOULD WE SEE? DO? tell me, dunedin. this is real.
