just a quickie. and a reminder, this naming is not a democracy! HA! i am an art dictator! and if you all vote for one thing but i change my mind, i am allowed to go with the underdog or do a total twist and call it CAMP YO MAMA. because this is art. if you want democracy, go...i am too sad to even make a joke about electoral politics in america.

ALSO: do not that when this goes on sale it will probably sell out FAST so please make sure you've kept the weekend free: may 22-25 in upstate new york (rhinebeck!), and we are working desperately on making sure there are childcare options. we thought there would be, now there aren't, now we are looking for alternatives. hold the phone. even if there aren't on-site childcare options, kids will be ALLOWED and we can probably supply an army of local sitters, so i think it'll be okay in the end.

...or AmandaCamp-A-rama... for the rhyme and rhythm... i love a good old 'o-rama; as a quirky and dramatic suffix to attach to an event... but maybe it also works as Rama in Sanskrit meaning a person with purity of mind???

My wife and I were in Florida when everyone realized how bad things were. The restaurants were closed one day, the beaches the next, and the next was our scheduled departure -- a 3-day drive back to Boston. When we got here, the city was already in a lockdown; that was two weeks ago last night. There's no real enforcement, but a strong expectation; most stores are closed and restaurants are take-out only, usually with curbside pickup. We can go outside for essential shopping, to exercise/walk dogs, and for essential workers, but we're supposed to stay 6 feet away from everyone else (most do this) and, as of yesterday, we're all supposed to wear masks -- we do, but many don't -- and stay inside from 9 PM to 6 AM. Being in our 70s, we're advised to stay in more than most, so my son is picking up groceries for us once a month. We've found a lot of joy in online concerts organized by Groupmuse (via Zoom) and continuing our own music lessons online via Skype or Facetime. Stay strong, everyone!
