hallo loves

if you were at the london show last night - the patron photo (and shintaido photo!) is below...and feel free to use this post as a virtual check-in with me, each other, all that. we are running around at 2736 miles an hour right now, but i'll be reading comments tomorrow.

and....what a show. a post-election london, a holy church venue, drooping mic stands, and 1,600 people from this community tuning in from all over the world. i got home around 1 am and took a bath. then cuddled into bed with neil and ash and awoke to the sounds of porridge and tea being made. i got a thai massage. my head is dead. we just got out of a production meeting and against all odds, it sounds like everything went off without a hitch last night. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? WEBCASTS ARE NEVER THIS EASY. maybe we are finally learning how to do this shit.

i cannot thank you all enough for being with me last night, whether it was in the flesh or via the magical internet. we are loading in and about to DO IT ALL AGAIN tonight. join again, pop by, and if you know anyone who may wanna see the show, nows a good time to poke them to join the patreon. you were all charged yesterday so tonight’s is technically a freebie. anyone is free to game the system and join just to peek and then flee. you know me. whatever.

taking a look at the backend of our crowdcast stream, we had over 1,600 (!!!) patrons tune in from literally all over the world. here's a map that shows where you were watching from.....

as a reminder,  you can watch the archive of yesterday's livestream here: FRIDAY's broadcast.

i'll keep the archive up for a little while (we'll see). after we stream tonight's show, we're working on releasing a final version to share with you to watch at your leisure, which will also include some extra footage we're recording on site that isn't on the live stream (like behind the scenes footage of me and the crew putting the show and the webcast together and an interview about these shows and the tour).

we Thinged yesterday's livestream to cover the costs for both nights, so you won't be charged for tonight's stream.  tell your friends to join and share the link. the stream is for patrons only but you can join for $1 a month and decide to bounce before you're ever charged, i won't mind if you game the system here. OKAY? okay. you never know who's gonna come over and stick around.

photo cahc-up from yesterday....

friday's shintaido group!

and our patron photo after last nights show. if you're coming tonight, stick around after the show and head to the front of the stage and i'll come out for our group photo. we have a curfew so we can't stay and hang out in the venue area.

and here's a picture of gaby editing the patron group photo on her way home in a cab after the show:

we donated 50% of last night's merch sales and will donate again tonight to The Margins Project, Union Chapel's charitable organisation that provides support for people facing homelessness and in crisis, offering showers, clothes, food and advice on housing and benefits.

if you would like to make a financial donation of your own, anywhere in the world, or find out more about The Margins Project head to:

https://www.unionchapel.org.uk/get-involved/donate/the-margins-project/

if you’re attending the show tonight and would like to bring financial donations or donate goods, they will be accepting them at the box office. please note that fresh food is not accepted.

here's a list of things they're focusing on

Margins is focusing on donations of:

- Backpacks
- Toiletries
- Socks
- Underwear
- Scarves
- Gloves
- Coats
- Robust boots
- Tinned food

here's a sign alex and connor made for our merch table:

now, just like yesterday, we're live streaming the entire show tonight for patrons only. here's the details again to get ready.....

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT TONIGHT'S WEBCAST:

we'll be putting the stream on at 6:15pm GMT london time (find your timezone here), the concert itself will start promptly at 6:30pm and we'll broadcast until about 10:30pm.

in the 15 minutes before the concert starts, we'll have a special GUEST STREAM HOST in front of the camera interviewing patrons and hosting the evening for you. meet cal, our hype queen and hostess. cal and i collided in edinburgh a few months ago and became fast friends; she's a scientist, musician and trans-activist and an all-round amazing person. (here’s a link to cal’s music). she'll also be interviewing patrons during the 20 minute intermission so there will be continuous footage for your viewing pleasure, even when i'm off stage.

here's cal last night with daniella, talking about The Margins Project and the great work that they do. that's hayley off to the side reading the webcast chat stream on her phone. you can ask cal a question by using the ASK A QUESTION button on crowdcast while we're live. hayley will answer questions in the chat and cal will chat on camera during intermission.

i'll be posting here on patreon right before we go live with the broadcast tonight, but if you're planning to tune in, you can make sure your account is ready to go by making sure that you're logged into patreon and you've connected your crowdcast account to your patreon account by clicking the RSVP link for tonight's broadcast: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/afp-20191214

we Thinged yesterday's livestream to cover the costs for both nights, so you won't be charged for tonight's stream.

tell your friends to join and share the link. the stream is for patrons only but you can join for $1 a month and decide to bounce before you're ever charged, i won't mind if you game the system here.

Saw you in Dublin in Oct, with my son, amazing experience, watched you live last night with my husband, son and daughter. Can I buy the tour merch hoodie or t? online, as I couldn't get one in Dublin due to finances, would love to treat myself now xx

My greatest apologies, but my family is going through some medical crisis's at the moment so until things get better I'll have to take a small hiatus from pledging. I of course will still follow you and see what you have going on, been a fan of yours since forever. Just need to cut financial corners in order to be able to provide any necessary help to my family at the moment. Thanks

Love the live stream, thank you so much! Could you post the behind the scenes and especially footage about putting the show together separately also? I love learning about how artists do art (my spouse is a painter and I've gone to lectures by artists on how they do their work). And thank you again, I thought the live stream was smashing!

Can't wait to see you in Melbourne, I'm getting so excited :-)

Amanda, thank you. We’ve just lost a friend and her dogs to her suicide. Her boyfriend just had his dog killed by another dog. We needed this show. Tried to see you in Cardiff but events conspired. To be able to sit in bed and cry/wail openly while you performed this incredible show was a gift. We hope you’re okay. Such an emotionally draining performance. Hugs from Cornwall UK xx P.s. i can have compassion for bojo but he is still a massive paedo prick. 😉

Dear Amanda, Your show on Friday night was epic, in every sense of the word. I'm so glad I got to be there, and for the Shintaido before too! The whole experience was wonderfully cathartic, and beautiful in its soul-wrenching vulnerability. Part way through the first half I was reminded of a line from Fleabag, when her dad tells her “I think you know how to love better than any of us. That’s why you find it all so painful.”. It's wonderful to feel so close to the community you've gathered and to you as an artist. You're an amazing performer and human being! All the love xxx

Just a thank you! Your show is just amazing. So happy that you put the friday show on archive… Will I ever get tired of watching and listening? No - never! Joining your Patreon was one of those "investments" that I didn't have to think about. Just love it! Keep on bringing the light! Hope you'll have a chance to spend some quality time with Neil and Ash before heading off to Australia. We will miss you here in Europe! Big, big hug!
