dear dear ones.

i know i’m behind on sending patron group-photos and such. gimme a few days to catch up. it’s the end of the tour....roller coaster. ride.

greetings from a sleepy amanda (i stayed up late last night at the abortion rights benefit in east london, more on that later) and michael on a train bound for newcastle in the north of england - this is the last stop of the UK tour.

i wanted to take a moment to tell you that niamh, sinéad’s sister, just wrote.

She’s left us. My beautiful sister, our great friend, neighbour and force of nature. Beautifully, peacefully, quickly, (in the end stage). She took her last breaths with Damian, mum and myself holding her hands. Music and candles lighting. Love pouring from us to her. 03:20 this morning. Graciously and with total release. We have taken huge strength from her departure. It was her final gift to all of us.

❤️💔❤️💔❤️💔

......

if you missed the story about sinéad, it is here

niamh told me that sinéad kept our ring on her finger (“it’s not coming off”) and that they played her our singing recording from limerick in the final hours, reverberating through the room. we armed her with love.

this life.

for whatever reason, in the mysterious ways these things work...we were all there in that theater at the right time. whatever the right time is. for this family, for this moment, at least.

this is why i love this community so much. we never know what is going to happen, we improvise our way through life and even into death. the roller coaster ride collects and deposits us.

for a time - some time - we are together.

here are two shots gaby just sent over...this one of me and niamh

and this one of sinéad, laughing and smiling.... this is the best one of the lot.

farewell, beautiful soul.

all of you....please send niamh your love through the air, and please also send it to damian, sinéad’s partner, and most of all, send your psychic love and hugs to those two little sons of hers. eight and ten. my heart cracks. send them all you’ve got.

i love you all.

........

with one final exhale, i will be in newcastle tonight at the tyne theater. there is tons of guestlist. sorry for the late offer, but send me names by 5pm latest and we will guestlist you. we can even put you on +2 guests if needed tonight - this place is ENORMOUS and half-sold.

see you tonight, loves.

Stunning show tonight. Often gruelling, but stunning. I saw Nick Cave in Manchester on that tour and he pulled a child from the audience up on to the stage. Heavy stuff considering what he was dealing with at the time.

Also, I was sitting in seat A28 tonight and I found a diary under my seat, presumably from the person behind me. It's with the lost property at the venue.
