minor media experiment here that i’ve been thinking about trying for weeks .... because i’ve been waking up with my head full of things to say and then i never have enough hours in the day to do a spontaneous here‘s-some-things-i wanna-say-today blog because everything crashes down: work, lists, house, relationship, toddler, record, tour ... and this is fast and furious and if you don’t mind listening, ill communicate this way. writing this in a blog would have taken me an hour. instead this took fifteen minutes. well and then i had to download a new soundcloud app and teach myself how to use it and take a poll on twitter and all that ... but

listen, loves. it reminds me a little of a public vocal morning pages...for those of who know the artists way....

heres a blogging at you with my voice, for 13 minutes, via soundcloud:

https://soundcloud.com/amandapalmer/voiceblogfeb9th2019/s-sOf6h

i made it possible to listen offline, and to do a direct download. and since this is a saturday morning experiment...in case it don't work try this

and here’s a wetransfer link in case you wanna download it:

what do you think?

you can also READ the voice ramble, lovingly transcribed by alex, along with the whole archive of transcribed voice rambles, RIGHT HERE

....

damian, whos a patron here, made a good point on twitter that it would be nice if these could live in serial format on amandapalmer.net and yeah that’s easy - we can do that.  i want to keep these just for the patrons now, so we would wanna password it or have people log in with patreon info or whatever.

i love you

heres liz and maira on stage last night

and a photo of me performing bigger on the inside (photo: andrea lauer, whos designing my tour costume)

here was the takeaway:

when women shamelessly share information with one another, it’s infectious....

Also, I couldn't get past the beginning of Eat,Pray, Love. I had a lot of feelings about it, none positive: I would not have ever considered hating the author for that. Maybe I'll just take the damn thing off of the shelf and give it a whirl again. Shrug.

I like the sending a video response story. Have you heard of the app Marco Polo? It let's you leave short video messages for people. My friend who has fibro and often has trouble typing really likes it for sending messages.

Great from the creators standpoint, it takes me half hour to write what I could say in 3 min! But everyone wants me to text, the most cumbersome comm of all. Downloaded & sent to phone for the drive to work.

Love this! I listen to podcasts while I do my mundane life chores that require no brain power, so this fits right in! Great idea!

Hi, Amanda! I, too, wanted to let you know how much I like the streaming voice posts. As Maria pointed out, it feels more intimate, personal. Cheers!

I love this!!!

It is definitely more intimate, like listening to a voice-message that you saved because it made you feel something unique and/or special.

I said this before, I'll say it again : I watch /listen to videos and podcasts and now this voicemails maybe once a month, if I'm lucky. When the net is good, when I'm at home, when phone is charged etc. I read patreon posts once a week usually, sometimes straight from my email. So what you say on audio /video, not sure when I get to listen to it. Written words are easier to access. That's just me though. Not listened to this voicemail yet, nor the following ones.

I finally got to a place where I felt like I could listen to this and it was so good. I sometimes have attention issues when reading long blog posts and this felt so immediate and intimate. Thank you!
