update from frozen, hate homework, secret warm-up shows, + 2nd portland show (patron only) (Patreon)

hallo lurves.

greetings from the freezing, freezing fucking woods. according to ash "everything is made of frozen" (did i mention he was obsessed with "frozen", the disney movie, not the physical state? he is). 

everything is made of frozen. it was -2 degrees yesterday and today it's up to a whoppingly tropical 22 and people are out in t-shirts. the pipes in my office have frozen, the fires are blazing, and everybody is freezing their bums off, literally: ash is so snow-crazed that he demanded to go out into the snow two nights ago. it was bedtime. he was wearing only a t-shirt, and it was about 5 degrees with a heavy wind. KILL YOU level cold. he kept saying "I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE SNOW". so i let him go out with a coat and boots on, but no pants...because i didn't have any pants handy. i figured he would last about 15 seconds on the porch...but no, he stayed out there, balls naked, for like five full minutes, while i watched out of the window in wonder. the snow was more important. after five full minutes of freezing his balls off, he knocked on the door and said, not "i need to come inside, i am cold" but "I WANT MY PANTS". i picked him up. his legs felt like icicles. i figure...he will learn what cold is, and comfort. but far be it from me to tell him what is and isn't. he can choose. he's still nailing down a philosophy. also: i am enjoying the advantages of country living, where you can let your kid run around with no pants on in the snow and there's nobody around to think you're weird, or a sex offender.

i'm rolling up my hardcore sleeves and getting deep into pre-release work-mountain-climbing.

there's so much to do in the next month, not to mention catching up on the lost emails of yore....i have a ton to ask you/tell you about the upcoming tour...hold tight. it's gonna be a deluge.

i'm also trying to carve out time-hours in the day to actually practice piano (what?) and write the script for the show....work on the lights, costumes, set design...everything. i'm also traveling to a gazillion cities and we need to book travel and flights and figure out where everyone is gonna stay and where/what we are gonna eat. oh yes, friends. yes, it's coming. i'm gonna ask i just need to be ready for you to answer. hang on a sec. :)

i'm also SIGNING EVERYTHING YOU ORDERED - i finished signing 2,900 copies of a beautiful letter that's going to come along with the hardback artbook (+ print!)...elsa, queen of frozen, helped me out....

....and these letters are are on their way to be united with their books and get all prettied up and sent to you - hopefully by DROP DATE on march 8th...or before if we are lucky. 

AGAIN...if you missed the window to order the hardback for patrons only, there are still a COUPLE LEFT!!! we needed about 2,500 for those of you who pre-ordered, and we over-ordered by about 200 for you stragglers...you can go to either merch store (links here: https://nointermission.amandapalmer.net/) and see if you can nab one of the last copies. it looks like there may only be copies left in the UK store, and very few at that.

and if you miss that, the softcover will be on sale forever, you can always get a copy that way. the innards are the same, just the cover is different.

i was in the audience when he gave this TED talk, and i was actually a supporter of the podcast when it first came out - we found each other on twitter. 

dylan, as you will see, has a podcast called "conversations with people who hate me", and we swore to each other that we would collaborate on a podcast. 

and we DID. it's going to be out on jan 28th, fingers crossed, and we've put a lot of time into it. there's going to be a public version on dylan's channel, and then i'm going to send out a version for PATRONS ONLY that includes a deeper pre- and post-chat between me and dylan. it's very exciting. please check out his TED talk and get familiar with his podcast if you wanna totally fan out for the drop. all here:

i am gonna do two teeny, tiny, intimate warm-up shows in new york city, and one teeny-tiny warm-up show in upstate new york (hudson). THESE ARE ON SALE TO PATRONS ONLY. there are DOZENS, not hundreds, of tickets. they will FLY.
