hallo loves -

i'm so glad you love the video. i'm pleased as punch :)

sorry for the many posts lately BUT i wanted to let you know if you're anywhere near woodstock, NY...

SURPRISE ...me and long-time pal and collaborator and MANY OTHER FREAKY ARTY PEOPLE are going to be celebrating life and weirdness and community in a free, fun, strange, art-church-like event called "the secret city" tomorrow at the bearsville theater at NOON. it's FREE, just come!!! when it's full it's full. bring children and expect the unexpected. i'll play at least a song or two and sxip and i will do crowd hijinx. we all need some soul healing with the current political climate.

secret city has also taken place in NY and other locations but i've always missed it - i'm so glad i can make this one...come! come! the bearsville theater is a beautiful old barn of a place (i played there when i was pregnant, maybe you were there)....this should be a HOOT.

if you're coming up from the city, i'd recommend showing up at 11 or so just so you nab a spot...it's free and unticketed so may hit capacity.

love peace and wine

xx

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as I'm in Australia. This looks like such a great event, I've just been reading their website. Happy 10th Birthday Secret City! Enjoy Amanda and all you Patreon's who get to go!!

Akkk! I won't be up there until I get my daughter next weekend! :'/ I wish you ALL the warm fuzzies for this show! 💗

I'm going to try to be there too. If I make it I'll wear my Jack & Amanda tour t-shirt.

Any chance of a few minutes of Periscope?

As much as I complain about living in Kingston, a 13 mile drive to see you and attend lifepartywoo! You betcha.

Oh, AND my big 50 bday is on the 10th, AND I'm doing GISHWHES (starts on the 5th) and mebbe I'll need the help of a "CELEBRITY", if you're in.

I went. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea. I saw Amanda and most of the rest of the crowd enjoying themselves and participating. But I just couldn't get into it so I left after half an hour. Oh well. At least it's a beautiful day for the hour long drive back to Albany.

How do I post a pic here?

Damn. That sucks, man. What happened? What was it like. I've been wanting to go but was afraid I wouldn't like it and feel like I didn't belong there.

It felt like a church but in all the wrong ways for me. I felt compelled to conform to how they expected the audience to "enjoy" the show: when to sit, stand, sing now, no like this, no you are not doing it right, etc. I don't celebrate as rote. I'm unique and my own special weird and I felt I didn't fit in. I didn't seem to match their definition of oddball so I left. They seemed to be having a grand old time, in unison. I'm more free form jazz, they were church hymnal. I'll keep looking for group activity to enjoy, but this wasn't one for me.
