Hi friends,

Due to my slow-motion output, I'm temporarily making this accessible to some lower tiers.

It's a brand new, detailed video tutorial on how to build your own screen-accurate Trimaxion Drone Ship in Blender. (Now that I know I definitely won't get to direct the reboot, I figured it's the only contribution I have left to make!)

In a way, this is behind-the-scenes content, too. You don't have to follow along with the tutorial. Just sit back and watch a man become slowly consumed by an obsession.

Thank you as always for your support and patience as I work on the next video!

Yes. Inject this directly into my ephemeral artery, please.

Wait, they actually told you that?

This really should be released to the public. So valuable and so much work put into it. Whilst I appreciate the extra content as a patron, it's a shame to just release to Patrons only.

You could release this kind of stuff later for non Patreons, i don't think many people would mind if you'd try to monitize this type of stuff on YouTube as well, as well as feeding the algorithm :)

While I agree - this is fantastic - this is clearly the work of Alan, the intern. Not sure if the captain would appreciate him taking over the channel of critical thinking. Maybe Alan can get his own channel for these types of videos, potentially freeing him from some constraints?

Awesome video, Awesome model, Awesome tutorial. Not so sure about blender UI. And I definitely don't like the original ship I think it does not give the wow effect the creators wanted. To me it looks like they were so caught in the awesomeness of making all that happen, that they forget how cheesy and lazy an all chrome blimp looks to layman.

Great tutorial thanks!

Thank you for the tutorial :D

Finished my model! I really enjoyed the tutorial, thanks. I felt like it was missing something up front about getting the size right, but it was easy enough to figure that out myself and I suppose it wasn't really important. Now I want to animate it… https://twitter.com/foomandoonian/status/1446619272134934532

Nicely done Cap’t D. Thanks for taking the time to go through this process. You’d probably never wish to open this project file again but I am really curious as to how you morphed this model into the fast flying version.
