It usually takes me a bunch of tries to get anything right. Here are all the camera takes of the shot where I introduce the screen-used miniature of the ship in the FON video.

We shot it with the jib crane, pulling focus remotely and it took this many attempts to get the move + focus + performance right together. Now picture this for almost every scene/shot of the hosting segments :P

I'm guessing that a part of the creative choice to have Alan host instead of the Captain was so that you didn't have to put on the full costume and makeup for endless days of shooting.

True commitment! If only the producers of the FON reboot could find someone to direct it that had such dedication...

BUT NEITHER APPROACH

It really is nice of The Captain to employ 14 Alan the Interns when he could probably get away with just 8 or 9.

Now this is my kind of definition of consuming content in mass quantities!

Yes, that and the prospect of visiting locations. And overall, when covering a topic like this, it felt weird to have a whole other layer of character humor on top of everything - too much conceptual stuff at once.

Looks like take 13 was the winner!

This is some high quality BTS stuff. It really shows in just 30 seconds how one shot can take all day and how each shot is different. I especially noticed the lighting/shadows.

I'm curious, what was the cool information and exhibits you had and wanted to use but it kept not happening? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVIdHKCjU94&t=880s

There was a possibility of getting some more never-before-seen pics of the ship interior and Max construction process, but it just didn't work out. I also tried really hard to verify some of the finer details of the CG stuff with additional Omnibus folks, but in the end I had to go ahead with what I had. I was worried back then, but it turned out okay!
