By the way, sorry the title in the video says "creating of a long composite". It used to say "anatomy of a long composite" then I meant to change it to "creating a long composite" but forgot to get rid of the "of"... IT'S BEEN A LONG WEEK!

Exactly how much sleep did you get in the past two weeks, and how many people did you have in the crew? Also, what does it take to get a permit to shoot in front of the North Miami Beach Police Department?

1) Not much sleep. 2) Aside from the extras you see on screen, it was just the camera operator using an awesome MoVi stabilizer rig. 3) It was rather nightmarish to arrange the permit (at least for me because I'm not a good producer). It took two weeks and between insurance and other fees ended up costing around $500. Did I mention I'm not a good producer?

Excellent video. Narration-free demonstrations like these do such a good job conveying how these effects are made. I'm still somewhat taken aback that this is now routinely possible for one person and their computer (not to suggest you didn't put a truckload of work into this). It makes me despair a little that people accept dreck like Sharknado and their abysmal CGI, when genius like this that's actually ABOUT something needs barkers like me to persistently harangue my friends and family to get on board, only to have them settle for Sharknado 2 and 3. It's easy when you know how, right? No, it isn't! But thanks to the Captain's dedication to his fans and supporters, you too can get a glimpse into what it takes to be this good. I really enjoyed this Cap. and just wanted to say thank you for you consistently going above and beyond, taking that extra step and all such other figures of speech for our entertainment. I truly am very grateful for all your hard work.
