Well....... here it is.

I hope the extremely long wait hasn't lead you to expect something super mega over-the-top mind-blowing. But it is a slightly more ambitious episode than usual.

I tried my best to overcome the many tech challenges it involved. I hope the idea comes through and the "debunks" seem interesting.

Thank you to Samantha for co-writing the script and to Joey and Pawel for pitching in on the VFX. And thanks to all of you, as always, for the support.

Please enjoy!

You say not to expect much. But this was absolutely something worth waiting for! Loved the video!

I loved this new episode. it was different, and I can see why it took so long! I loved the Alan cameo and I reckon you could actually pull off a ted Danson cosplay

It may not be over-the-top mindblowing per se... but gosh is this the best looking CD episode so far o__o Definitely need to watch this a few times to fully appreciate it!

Aw, I really liked that one! The end literally gave me the smile I needed to get up and going with my day. Thank you, Captain D (you too, Alan) (stop crying, you're making me uncomfortable again).

Old logo at beginning, new logo at the end, very nice!!

I'm going to assume there's a "happy 40th birthday" owed, so happy birthday!

watched it... too less Debunk in the last year! speed up!

Anonymous

Now that's what I call brilliant. Dramatic irony.

Anonymous

Absolutely incredible. This might be your best yet. Also I spent HOURS watching that Zach King video trying to figure it out so I entirely relate to your fixation on it.

5:46 has gotta be one of the funniest things I've seen this year XD The sudden change in expression had me in stitches twice XD

Well worth waiting for. Thank you Captain :D A fantastic ride from start to finish, loved the Alan cameo, the FX were amazing and fit so well with the flow of the video. Such good work.

I don't really understand the countdown thing... someone please explain.

Incredible.

Niiiiiice! So happy to see a new one :)

Thanks CD!

Wow! Great video! And hair! You aimed for Beakman but got Ruffalo! 👌🏼

Anonymous

I had a suspicion that Alan was Captain D. But since they are both in the same shot, that is obviously not possible. Silly me!

Anonymous

I hope you'll get a chance to do some breakdowns for us of the most challenging bits you encountered! Looked great! Thanks for all your hard work.

Anonymous

Love it! You’re the man!

Anonymous

Awesome - and so worth the wait!

Alan is Captain D. Sometimes. He clearly has a twin brother (as evidenced here in the video), and both take turns playing the Captain. I just hope one doesn't lose a finger in an accident. That would be bad for the other brother...

Always amazed by the VFX and care put into each episode, but I resonate even more with the message behind this one. For years, I've found myself realizing how much time has gone by and think how much of it I've taken for granted. Sometimes it's incredibly bleak and kind of locks me up, but then I always remember that I should use that feeling to refocus and try to do a better job of appreciating the moments of life while I can still experience them. I hope you and yours are safe, healthy, and enjoying what life you can Captain. Same goes for all of you folks out there in the world.

I just love this channel so much. You do such great work! Keep it up - on your schedule. ❤️

Awesome work! I can't even begin to understand how much work went into this one.

holy shit CD, non-ironic goosebumps over here

Damn, the room transformation/texture (and the nifty scratch in the paint) are insane! Crazy VFX in that one...

Anonymous

Love the insight in this...and the grey hair gag...

Anonymous

That was well worth the wait. Great job Captain!

Anonymous

As always, excellent work Captain. The wait is always worth it, in a world of continuous, low effort content, yours is a refreshing sight.

Brilliant video. In fact I reckon a regularish sift through your inbox for some speed-debunking of the easier ones would be a nice addition to your channel.

Great vid, Cap. The youtube crowd is gonna get on you for saying it's a new year. I mean, it's gotta be like October by now. I can't believe I have been quarantined for 6 months alrea... What? It's been three weeks? Oh bother.

Anonymous

That was so good Cap'n! I could watch your content all day I enjoy it so much. Happy to help support it's creation

Epic, as always! *edit: even more epic!

I always enjoy the way you play with the arcs of timing and rhythm.

Love the implication here that the entirety of the CD series is filmed on a Mandalorian-like virtual set :)
