'Blender Reality' Instrumental Track (Patreon)

Yesterday I posted the Blender song on SoundCloud, but exclusively for you guys, here's an instrumental version for, you know, singing loudly in the privacy of your own home.

Production Notes

The original tune had been collecting dust in my musical ideas folder for years. It was initially going to be a song about how a [fictional] ex-lover who's become famous now sucks, in the opinion of the singer. But when I decided to do a musical number at the Blender Conference, I thought it would be a much better use for that melody.

As with most music for Captain D, I arranged it in Reason, but this time in addition to keyboard, I attempted to play REAL GUITAR. I can barely strum a clean chord, but through the magic of countless takes and meticulous editing, I was able to comp together the necessary parts.

I also can't really sing. But I belted take after take in Pro Tools and pieced together the least off-key snippets into lead and backing vocals. For the live presentation I muted some of the vocals/keyboard parts at the end so I could sing/play them live.
