I'm playing catch-up and am almost back to regular schedule! The next video is a fairly simple Quick D, but as usual, I'm putting more effort into the details of it than is probably necessary.

Editing & VFX are time-consuming but at least it's just sitting and working at a computer. The shooting process is when the real organizational challenge happens. I try to keep track of everything with checklists and schedules, but sometimes the simplest things slip through the cracks.

You may have seen me complain on Twitter a few days ago about how I forgot to put dots on my face. It was for a brief shot where I pretend to have a motion capture suit. I filmed it as the last thing of the day and simply forgot this very important part of the look.

I considered adding them digitally in post, but then realized that would be insane. So I bit the bullet, got back into makeup the next day and re-shot that part.

And I'm glad I did. It was an opportunity to snaz-up the whole costume. Look at that low-effort before picture. I don't know why I thought that was acceptable!

I wish we got more "behind the scene" videos like the previous Tom Scott video

Though, the new look does take away from some of the "carefully" placed ball(s) on your first attempt.

Love the effort you put into these mate!

The reshoot option looks much cooler! Can't wait!

When in doubt, add more balls.

The problem I have with reshoots is the continuity errors, hair is longer, something is just out of place. Most likely no one will notice those little things, but I can't unsee it during the editing process.

After seeing on twitter that you filmed a scene as aprt of an elaborate gag, and forgot to add the face tracking dots, I had a good laugh seeing it in the final video. I thought 'wow, this is dedication, refilming it, just to get the face dots!'
