Most of my ideas start out grander and more complicated than what ends up in the video. Technical limitations and schedule usually require trimming the concept down to something more approachable.

In the case of the motion control split-screen scene with Ami Yamato, I originally aimed for an elaborate sketch with a BTTF-style time travel premise. Since Ami was coming all the way from London, I threw together this rough animated storyboard (using my own voice and primitive mannequins) to make sure we both had the exact same vision of how the scene would play out.

The length and complexity of it proved way too much for Ami and I to choreograph and shoot in the limited time available, so we opted to go with something a lot simpler ( https://youtu.be/pKQn2VvZbxg )

But this animatic is still fun to look at :)

I love seeing your brand of humour still coming through with previs dummies 😂

Wow, it's kinda interesting that you flew ami in from London, couldn't you hav done the exact same thing with her being overseas, Considering her character is an animated model? Or is there some live action motion capture involved in her scenes?

The link in the email you just sent (linking to the final one) is broken because the href includes the ")." at the end of the sentence.

I've genuinely had so many time travelling ideas from this:- *(Captain D plows the Delorean through Ami's apartment wall and climbs out in a blind panic)* CAPTAIN: "It's your kids, Ami, something's gotta be done about your kids!" AMI: "What is it, D?!" CAPTAIN: ".....They only drink tea!" AMI: "Noooooooooo!" But Hey! Way to be ambitious, Captain. Wonder what movies VFX you'll tackle next :)

No I think you misunderstood the post, he just did some animation for this storyboard. Ami flying in to film just sounds a whole lot less time consuming than doing a fully rendered animation.
