Hey mate, saw this comment a fortnight ago and it stuck in my mind. Possibly die to a new youtube trend of Zoomers making fun of old fart Millennials. And coder aquaintances complaining of being seen as hasbeens at forty. It must suck to mature in one of the few industries where seniority is seen as a disadvantage. But during catastrophic climate change i don't think the hate for Boomers is going to get any less. Sure, it wasn't Boomers who killed the world - it was rich people. I think a lot of the hate for Boomers is misplaced class struggle. And you guys make an easy scapegoat for capitalists. Anyway, i hope youfind some work.

Another kick in the gut this week. This time it was Andrew pointing out the incompetence of Boomers. More often it is Thomas. Occasionally both. This happens way too often on OA, my favorite podcast. I am 65 and have been having a hell of a time finding employment for the last 10 months. Many organizations note the older applicants and delete us from the list. I have designed a number of data systems that you have probably interacted with and my competence is higher than it was ever before. For example, I designed the data system you use every time you get your credit score. I also designed and built the Futures Trading System that connects the worlds biggest grain company to the Chicago Board of Trade. However, everyone assumes I am technically incompetent because of my age. Please allocate the term Boomer to the same category as the other 'B' word. Ageism is a prejudice that is not cute nor pretty. It hurts people.
