I'm offended that Andrew claimed 52 likes for a question was some kind of record, when my question back in September got more than 61 likes! Worst. Podcast. Ever. 😜

As far as I can tell, Maryland's state song was never actually replaced, in Andrew's lifetime or the lifetime of anyone else born after 1939. Wikipedia says "Unsuccessful efforts to revise the lyrics to the song or to repeal or replace the song altogether were attempted by members of the Maryland General Assembly in 1974, 1980, 1984, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2016, 2018, and 2019.[19][20][21]" However, in March 2021, both houses of the state house finally voted to repeal (without any replacement) "Maryland, My Maryland" as state song, and Hogan signed that into law. For the last 21 months, Maryland has been without any official state song, as VA was from 1997 to 2015, and as NJ is and has always been.
