I would go with B. They still decided it on their own they just asked a collogue for clarification on what they were looking for to make a decision without revealing anything inappropriate. Maybe I'm just naïve but I would have assumed that judges talk to other judges about rules and what to look for in deciding cases all the time. Wouldn't we want them sharing insights like that?

I like B, but I can imagine an argument for C. What if the judge being consulted has some personal connection to one of the parties? If the judge disclosed she was going to consult with Judge Enis, someone could object and say, "Oh no not that Enis guy, he hates me!"
