So people were pointing out things like "I asked her to do something, she said no, but then I could just ask her again and again," or even worse, ". . . and I'd get stat raises each time," which is a level of easy grind that isn't really a good idea. Yeah, there are hard caps on how high you can get a stat in most of these cases, but you can still grind out a decent amount of the stat levels you need this way, and if we're ever going to get a decent difficult level going on, we have to fix such cheap exploits, right?

But fixing this isn't effortless, it requires a way for her to remember what has and hasn't happened in some sense. She already does this in some ways, there is a counter for each sex act, so she knows how much she's done each thing, and there are a handful of variables devoted to specific scenes, so that she only runs them once, or a limited number of times, but using these methods would mean adding an individual variable for each specific question (or at least situation), which would mean hundreds of variables to track, clear, etc., huge pain.

So I think the method I've settled on will be simpler. I basically use lists. She remembers a list of things that she has done within the current block of time (ie "evening"), and she remembers a list of things that she's done "today." Some of these are more general, like she remembers if she refused anal, or remembers that she refused to have sex in public, others can be more specific, like a single combination of circumstances. The system is as flexible as I have the time and interest to use it. One of the main advantages is that it's easy to check and easy to clear when it's no longer needed.

So currently, one of the more fleshed out test cases is the basic sex scene. Now, if she refuses to have sex with you in the morning, and then you immediately ask her again, there is a slightly lower chance of success, and she'll mention that you just asked her, which she does not appreciate. Ask her again and she might boot you from the encounter entirely. Ask her later in the day, and your odds are a bit better, but she'll still mention that you asked earlier. This isn't an entirely negative thing either. If she agrees to sex in the morning, she'll reference that later in the day. That doesn't mean you can't change her mind, if you ask her, and she refuses, but then you do something that makes her much happier about it, you can change her mind on the second attempt.

As I work on the system, I'm constantly thinking of new places where I can employ it, so it should be pretty fun once I get it fully implemented, although it really is ballooning out portions of the dialog trees.

Also, I figured out a simple way to make the texting visuals a bit less awkward. I'm still considering a better way to have the word balloons shift to actual texting-looking options in an elegant manner, but this should work for now (and the phone will have other uses later).

I'm curious if the hair washing has any gameplay implications or it's just the random texting that usually goes on between boyfriend girlfriend.

Random thought on texting: What if you could get Rogue to pose for a sexy photo and then use that as the background on your phone?

Oh, I'd like to do more than that with the photo capabilities, and I have some vague ideas on how to do it, but it'd be this whole big thing to figure out and so it's stayed on the backburner for a while now. Rest assured though that once I've got some of the other big features humming, photo sexting will eventually be a thing. And huh, I just learned that "backburner" is not a word according to my spellchecker, yet "sexting" is. TIL.

I had sex with her, but it's always in the same position, I think the most important thing in a hentai game are the sex scenes. I know this game is beta, but it seems that you are focusing more on other things than the sex scene itself, don't make the same mistake several hentai games devs make that they focus more on other things than sex. I also think the look of the 90s Rogue is more hot, if we could have sex with her in that form would be great.

Well, there are two options. On the one hand, I could have a bunch of static, pre-built CGs of different poses and angles. On the other hand, I could offer a lot of character customizability, including numerous clothing options, and maybe that 90's look at some point, but that means only a few pose/angle options that cover most of the bases. I am really not in a position to do both at the same time, since combining the two is an exponential process. Maybe later if I can hire on more artists.

i like it the cellphone display while texting, i am curious bout the 2 rogue icons beside the backpack though. As for my earlier request for kinkier stuff im hoping there would be Collars, like at 1st it would just be a simple leather dog collar then something metallic and uncomfortable and lastly when her obedience is the highest a custom collar that fits only rogue and can only be removed by the MC

Oh, don't worry about those. They're are basically "cheat" buttons that I have in my testing version so that I can change the options around and make sure they're working without having to go all over the place. I likely will employ the icon in the actual game at some point, to separate Rogue from Kitty in the UI. As for collars, maybe? Wouldn't be too hard to do. She does have one by default.

Heh, I'll probably add some more in a bit. Over the past few days I've updated some graphics, tweaked the undressing mechanic, and done a few other bits and pieces. Next version when she undresses it should flow a bit better.

I might go into it more in a blog post, but basically right now if there comes a time where you ask her to undress, and she's fine with that, then she basically says "all of it?" and you have the option of leaving pieces on. It's a bit of a clunky interaction. The new one I think it written a bit more naturally. At the same time, I'm adding in the new memory elements that are going into the other systems, some basic streamlining, etc., so basically it should be smoother and more interesting all around.

You also adding additional images of her undressing or later on? I'm more and more looking forward to seeing the final update. This game is fun and awesome. One hell of a great job Oni.
