I ADORE this movie. His “how to be a man” speech is epic.

Loved this movie when i saw it. You saw Robert Duvall in The Godfather. He was Tom Hagen the family lawyer. Both he and Micheal Caine have been in a ton of movies in the 70s and 80s. One of the best movies I've ever seen had Caine with Sean Connery called The Man Who Would Be King.

Michael Tocci

You'll see even MORE Michael Caine when Dirty Rotten Scoundrels returns to polls! 😀

Matthew Periolat

And the Critters go wild as a young Grog Strongjaw appears. Those who know are laughing right now and that’s the important thing. If you like Michael Caine, I suggest Deathtrap and Cider House Rules. Robert Duvall is a bit tougher, but maybe a justification for To Kill A Mockingbird. Can’t wait for what ever is coming Friday!

The cartoons were drawn by Berkeley Breathed, known for Bloom County / Outland / Opus.

Lynette Cummins

I've never seen this one. I loved the crabby uncle's and any movie with critters is a win for me.

I believe this might be your third time seeing Michael Caine. Didn't you mention in your review of Speed that you had only seen Sandra Bullock before in Miss Congeniality? He was her beauty pageant coach in that movie,

Mary Brown

This is an all time favorite for me, I’m glad you referenced Big Fish, I was going to say it’s kind of like Big Fish jr. with the wild stories!

Mary Brown

The actress who played Walter’s horrible mother is the amazing Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon’s real life wife. And the good looking doctor who took care of Hubb while he was in the hospital is Haley Joel’s real life father, who has been an actor longer than Haley Joel has.

Flick Freaks

Now you should watch “The Ghost & The Darkness”. It’s another film about a couple of sweet, little lions. & as a bonus, it’s a true story & Val Kilmer is in it. 😏😏😏

Emily Smith

A hilarious deleted scene that was in the special features was an explaination as to WHY the traveling salesmen kept coming by - despite the rude welcome they got once they arrived. Walter stumbles on Garth sitting at the kitchen table by himself filling out a bunch of "Yes! I am interested in..." postcards from catalogs. Hub is completely unaware that Garth is basically inviting these salesmen there for the express purpose to be shot at for Hub's entertainment. You can see a quick shot in the movie itself when Walter and the dogs (and pig) go get the mail. He pulls out what looks like a huge stack of catalogs...

I like Robert Duvall in, The Judge, Gone in 60 Seconds, Days of Thunder, and Something To Talk About

CinWin

That's funny. I wish they had left it in the movie.

Emily Smith

I know, right!
