Great. Now when Asheigh finally watches Lord of the Rings she will remark how certain characters remind her of Harry Potter, just like every other reactor who watches HP first. Let me just nip that in the bud - LotR came first, and HP borrowed a lot from it.

Ashleigh, let me just tell you that before you mentioned what house you were sorted into, I guessed Gryffindor. I promise, you are 100% Gryffindor, and that’s a compliment. I’m Hufflepuff, not that it matters, but you can tell a lot about a person by the House they’re in. Read up on Gryffindor when you get a chance! Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid are also Gryffindors, which is why you see them cheering on that House the most. Oh and in the book, they do the sorting in A-Z order. Just so you feel better about that haha. The movie wanted to drive up the drama. Also I love that you understand the attraction to Snape! He’s actually my favorite literary character ever and you’ll see more of him if you continue this series (please please do!). Alan Rickman really brought him to life brilliantly.

To answer your question - John Cleese was Nearly Headless Nick. I really want you to watch "Cabin in the Woods" this Hallowbeans - you may have a different opinion about unicorns after seeing it. Harry Potter to me is like comfort food - it isn't going to excite me too much but I get a warm feeling every time I watch it. So glad you enjoyed it too.

I definitely hope you continue with the series. I'm sure it's been mentioned in another comment somewhere, but the films mature along with the characters/actors. The first two films are definitely geared toward kids, but the tone changes pretty fast after that. Also, magical places are generally protected from muggles by spells and charms. For example, if a muggle were to approach Hogwarts, they would suddenly feel like there was something urgent they forgot to do, thus causing them to leave.
