BEANS!!! So cute sleeping on you!!!

Christine

I think this movie is more impactful if you have already seen An Affair to Remember. I hope Ashleigh watches it someday.

Watching this with you was such a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon ❤

Such a great watch! :)

I remember when I was little, climbing into my mom’s bed and watching it with her. Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan are the classic duo, so glad you got to experience this movie! Walter was also in a movie I bet you’d love as well: While You Were Sleeping. The dinner scene with the family alone is worth reacting to!

I saw the 1994 version and I think it’s the 3rd version. I wonder if they remade it then because of the success of this movie?

I feel like you’d need to watch You’ve Got Mail right after this and compare. My husband likes Sleepless in Seattle Better and I like You’ve Got Mail better.

Happy Valentine's Day!! Used to be my favourite holdiay. When our youngest was 8, I dealt with her saying "I'm starting to forget." So, not so much so anymore. Not a day to avoid, but not a day to embrace either. Except of course for the fact that CALORIES DON'T COUNT TODAY!!! Oh, and we don't say "widowered" because that sounds too Elmer Fudd-ish.

I like the sequel You’ve Got Mail better.

No need to make it political. Maybe the Americans or others could answer this; does Strange Brew make sense to people without the context of the show? Growing up in Canada at the time and with SCTV it just seemed fine, curious to know what those without those think of the movie.

I remember Bob and Doug's novelty song "Take Off" with guest vocalist Geddy Lee

SCTV was an American show with several Canadians in it. The Bob and Doug sketches were basically Canadians making fun of Canadians for an American audience. The movie, Strange Brew, is hysterically funny even for anyone who hasn't ever seen SCTV. It borrows heavily from Hamlet, but you don't need to know Shakespeare to follow it. The first time I saw it, I hadn't seen either Hamlet or SCTV and I laughed all the way through it. I was in a high school library in rural New Mexico, making props for a haunted house when someone put the movie in. It needed no background information to make it make sense.

You’ve got mail is way better
