I called Xfinity today and have an appointment for tomorrow.  Hopefully this issue will never happen again.

Thank you so much for your patience!

WATCH ALONG

To be honest, there are a lot of issues with this movie. It’s mostly due the the alleged issues that involved the actress that played the daughter in this movie, which is why it really can’t be streamed. You need to own a copy of this movie to watch it.

Have you thought about getting a business connection with Comcast? It does cost more. But you won’t have any kind of cap on how much bandwidth you use. Also you might can get a faster upload speed.

It’s all good Ashleigh! This is one of my personal favorite movies off all. Glad you finally got to watch it. I will watch the W-aL after work tonight.

How frustrating for the slow upload times! FYI: I live north of Knoxville basically up at the border with Kentucky. About a year ago we were tired of crap network (wouldn't work with Zoom, causing lag in games), and so we got service from "Point Broadband". I think they're a relatively regional provider but they're expanding quickly. They run fiber directly to your house. Their internal organization between their dispatch and their installers are...kind of clownshoes, frankly. But once the service is installed, their internet is amazingly stable and reliable. We got the lowest bandwidth (I think it's 200 mbit or something) but it's super-steady and it works so well we haven't really thought about getting higher package.

You tell xfinity they screwed my schedule up. Hahahaha!!!!

While that is an important story, it's definitely not why it can't be streamed. It can't be streamed because James Cameron gets final approval on all new remasters of his movies and he's been working on Avatar 2 for over 10 years now. The Abyss is also almost as unavailable to stream (sometimes it's on Prime), and has never been released on Blu-ray either, although Cameron confirmed in an interview a couple of months ago that he had finally signed off on the new 4K transfer and it was waiting on Disney to release it.

Thirsty Ashleigh is worth the wait

Your internet couldn't handle Jamie Lee Curtis in this movie.

For a not pretty Jamie Lee Curtis you need to watch Drowning Mona

Can't find this streaming anywhere, and I was really looking forward to checking this out again with ya. :( One of my favorite action movies growing up!

The concrete was poured on the bomb to prevent anybody from being able to disarm it. It's a nuke, it doesn't care that it is encased in concrete and will happily explode as if it wasn't even there. Also, blowing up other explosives near it won't detonate the nuke. Nukes require a very specific set of circumstances to work and some grenades or rocket launchers aren't going to set one off. They could potentially break the device so that it couldn't detonate, and could become a radiation hazard, but it won't explode. At least, not at a nuclear level.

So a couple of things to clarify: the jet is called a Harrier and it IS in fact a VTOL (vertical take off and landing) aircraft. One of the few successful military VTOLs out there. Also, the scene where Helen fires the mac-10: that actually is technically possible because the submachine gun fires from an open bolt, which means the bolt, with the cocking knob attached has to travel forward in order to cycle the weapon. Theoretically, as the weapon is traveling down the steps, the bolt could get knocked into firing several times. In addition, the high cyclic rate (1200 rounds a minute) means that it is spraying so man bullets out, a few are bound to find a target. Is this movie magic? Of course it is. But it is a little more grounded in reality that you might think at first glance.
