Allen loved the original script which had him shooting the intruder on the roof (Santa). Of course Disney put a swift end to that.

I'm in the USA, and all Denny's signs are yellow. Perhaps she's thinking of the entire sign, rather than just the name on the top of the building. The architecture is distinctive as well; you can always tell if a building used to be a Denny's.

I tell people: If you hate Star Trek, you'll love this movie -- and if you love Star Trek, you'll love this movie. That's tough to pull off. Just like "My Cousin Vinny", it's not high art; it's just a very well-made movie. And it's got Sam Rockwell before he was a big deal.
